Stretch and Sweep- Midwife couldn’t find cervix

Hi all,
I am 39weeks+5days pregnant. Had a stretch and sweep in the hospital on Monday and the doctor said I am already 2cm dilated. After that, I lost my mucus plug next day and had lots of pelvic pain.
Today I visited my midwife in the gp for another stretch and sweep. She said she couldn’t find my cervic but the baby’s head was very low. She wanted to try longer but it did hurt a lot and had to ask her to stop.
Do you have any similar experience? I don’t know why she couldn’t find the cervix.

Everyone's fingers are a different length. So whilst one person may be able to reach it, another may not.
Also, sometimes if the head is low, and the cervix posterior, you may not be able to reach around the head to get to it.

Thank you it is really reassuring. The doctor found it in a second on Monday and it was very heartbreaking today the midwife said she can’t reach it.

Piecing those two together is actually quite positive - you were 2cm dilated before and now baby’s head is so low the midwife couldn’t reach the 2cm cervix, it’s all progress, very good luck!

Thank you all. I had my baby a week after on the 12th. I went to hospital with 5cm dilated but after 7cm dilated the labour didnt proggress and we ended up
emergency csection. The baby is happy and healthy
