I'm only 13 weeks so I know it's too soon currently, but I was wondering when everyone felt their first baby move?

I was sure I felt something for a second or two at the end of week 15. This then happened again a couple of times in week 16, so I was sure that's what it was. I have a posterior placenta though and obviously placenta position greatly affects when you can first feel something.

Not until after 20 week scan - anterior placenta!

TobiasForgesContactLense · 10/08/2023 11:39

I remember it so well! I was 18+6. I had read that you are more likely to feel movement when you are relaxed and we were going on holiday at 18/19 weeks. I was so impatient on the first 3 days of the holiday sure it would happen whilst we were away. I was sat outside a cafe in the sunshine whilst DH had gone in to order lunch and I felt something flip over inside - more like a scrape than a flutter but not painful. Also lower down than I expected. I was desperate to feel it again but only felt the odd movement over the couple of weeks until it became more regular.

I started feeling flutters/tingles at about 14/15 weeks and proper kicks at 18

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 10/08/2023 11:48

Flutters 16 wks- kicks at 18

I also had an anterior placenta and didn't feel the baby until somewhere in the 20s!

ZippingZebra · 10/08/2023 13:36

Anterior placenta here... after 20 week scan for me too. I want to say it was about 22 weeks and a faint repetitive feeling that we mistook as a kick and it turned out it was hiccups.

REBM · 10/08/2023 13:55

I felt flutters but didn't know what they were, from about 17 weeks, wasn't until my twenty weeks scan when she kicked on the screen that I thought "oh that's what that is!" 🤣

justmyluck1234 · 10/08/2023 14:08

Believe mine was around the 20 week mark

Sunshineclouds11 · 10/08/2023 14:36

22 weeks with first - anterior placenta

KnackeredBack · 10/08/2023 14:37

21 weeks with first, far, far earlier with next 2.

Yahyahs22 · 10/08/2023 14:40

18 ish weeks

teenysaladandsniffofarose · 10/08/2023 14:47

Around 15/16 weeks. But only flutters not full blown kicks!

My midwife said you can feel movements earlier if you are slim and you've had more than one pregnancy.

Pollywoddles · 10/08/2023 14:49

18 weeks on the button.

Cowlover89 · 10/08/2023 14:52

17 weeks.

Mushroo · 10/08/2023 14:56

20 weeks and still haven’t felt anything that I’ve thought ‘yup, that was movement!’. Ive had vague fluttering for about a week (anterior placenta).

Can’t wait to feel something properly.

Coinicon · 10/08/2023 15:01

17 weeks (clearly) for me, from 16 I felt some weird things but was not sure if it was digestion issues instead 🤣

Emilyadams98 · 10/08/2023 15:16

Day of my 16 week app, I told the midwife I had felt what felt like muscle spasms, very tiny, was like tiny tiny taps, she said to look out as that’s likely the baby, that same night I felt a very intense movement and knew it was baby moving! I was in shock lol

Charlielechat · 10/08/2023 21:20

17 weeks I started feeling soft taps/pops which became more and more regular. Now at 20 weeks they're getting a bit stronger!

Justdancinginthedark · 11/08/2023 23:09

15 weeks. It felt like loads of bubbles popping. I felt this every 3 or 4 days for a few weeks.
