Protein in urine 23 weeks

Hello,

I went to the maternity unit last night as I hadn’t felt baby move. That was all
ok but they found protein in my urine and have mentioned it could be pre eclampsia. They have sent off so they can measure how much protein is in my urine. Has anyone else had this before? I know it could be nothing but also something. I have been under a lot of stress recently and have read that can cause protein so that is best case senario.

if this is pre eclampsia I know it doesn’t go until baby is delivered and baby is no way near ready for that. Has anyone else has this experience?

many thanks

33 weeks here and regularly have protein in my dipstick urine samples at my appts. Without high blood pressure, my care team is not concerned about pre-eclampsia.

My blood pressure is on the higher side but has been since I booked in at 10 weeks so hasn’t got any higher. It’s just worried me as the midwife mentioned pre elclampsia and naturally I have gone to worse case senario.

I had that a couple of times when I was pregnant with my twins I’ve just had and they said it’s because I hadn’t had a lot of food /water that day and was nothing to worry about

I had protein in urine at last midwife appointment at 25 weeks, they told me not to worry, they sent it off but I haven't heard anything back so must be ok. I asked if this is normal and she said it happens all the time, I asked specifically about pre eclampsia and her words were 'not at all' so I wouldn't worry too much, I thought protein in urine meant PE too but apparently not.

I wouldn’t have thought pre eclampsia straight away because I’m only 23 weeks but it was the midwife who kept mentioning it which has now put me on edge. Hopefully it’s nothing 🤞🏻

4 pregnancies and protein in urine in every one. Also higher BP but never turned into anything more.

Thanks everyone! I will worry until I get the results but thank you for the reassurance

I've had protein and leukocytes in my urine every test and they've never been able to grow anything. They don't seem concerned, I'm now 24 weeks. Could very easily be nothing.

They like to catch preeclampsia early to monitor and try slow it down. My mum was in hospital on bed rest with preeclampsia for 8 weeks before delivering my sibling at 37 weeks. She was small but fine.

Hopefully nothing but I'd take the test and your blood pressure as a warning and ease off. Better to dial it down now than end up on bed rest in hospital later!
