Pregnancy after miscarriage experiences

Hello, I was recently diagnosed at my 12 week scan with a missed miscarriage, I believe it was a blighted ovum / anembyronic pregnancy so all that was there was a growing empty sac. I had all the usual pregnancy symptoms so it’s been rubbish to reach the end of a rough (/normal?) first trimester with absolutely nothing to show for it.

Me and my partner are thinking about if we want to try again or not, but the thought of going through this again is sort of terrifying. Has anyone been through anything similar and gone on to have no further issues? I’m unsure if this means I have increased likelihood of further complications and I’m not sure how many times I could go through this sort of thing.

Our first pregnancy was very straight forward with no issues but I’m wondering if this could’ve been a fluke that was unlikely to happen again.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Blighted ovum’s are brutal. You’ve gone through all of those symptoms and it’s just a sac. I’m sorry.

I had a blighted ovum discovered at 9wks two years ago. I’m currently 20wks pregnant at the moment. This pregnancy has its own complications, but the baby is healthy and lively.

The chance of having another BO after having one is incredibly low.

This time round I had a scan at 5+2 (but turned out I was 4+6) and then again at 8+3 to check viability. I didn’t want to have to go through it all again.
