Hi all,

Long story, short story I had a scan on Friday at what I thought was 6+2 weeks but sonographer measured sac at 4+4weeks. Sac measurement was 0.53mm. (Checked this online and it's close to 5 weeks) no yolk sac and no embryo. Sonographer did say she saw something but couldn't be 100%. My husband watched the monitor and said she kept going over the same bit at the bottom and could see what she was referring to but not sure what it is at this stage... I've now been referred to EPU and have a scan and bloods tomorrow but from reading others posts you think you might get an answer but they just monitor over a few weeks which is just agonising.
Any advice or similar stories would be greatly appreciated

Should also mention I booked the early scan before looking at the horror stories etc... it's my first pregnancy and I was just super excited... lesson completely learnt... will never do this again!

Think of it like this, had you not had the scan you would be none the wiser and possibly if your excitement could have held out had a perfectly normal scan at 12 weeks. Sometimes these reassurance scans are not helpful but you weren't to know this at the time so don't blame yourself.
At this stage they grow crazy amounts at different times, I had a scan at epu at 6 weeks due to bleeding and saw a little bean and a heartbeat. Others have not seen the same until later and gone on to have perfect healthy pregnancies. My next scan at 8 weeks baby looked like a slug.
You might have ovulated later so you're slightly behind what you think you are. If no pain or bleeding I would try your best to think positive. It will be a horrible wait and I'm sorry you're going through it, I know you want to be excited and I've got fingers and toes crossed you get your reassurance soon and can breathe a bit sigh of relief x

@Pastapoodles
Thanks for your kind reply... I've not had any bleeding or pain at this point and still very much getting all the symptoms... hindsight is a beautiful thing, if I'd just not have been like an impatient puppy I would have been none the wiser...
I guess at this point, I'll expect the worst and hope for the best!
I'll keep this updated just in case anyone ever finds themselves in a similar situation Smile

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! It's really too early to worry and you may have ovulated later, we had a hospital scan at around 6 weeks and there was no heartbeat and they said it might just be too early to detect so yours is a good sign, they repeated it a week later and all was good but that week was a real worry (it's so normal to be worried). Have since had a 9 week scan and the 12 week one, all perfectly fine. My due date has also changed (gone backwards) twice from what was my EDD based on the online calculators. Hopefully your next scan will put your mind at rest x
