Hi everyone, came here as I’m just very confused. I have pcos and my periods are often late/early and really heavy but in general usually a 28-35 day cycle. Last two periods were 6-10th June and 15-19th July. My next period is due in 10 days (15th august) and I’ve just had a positive test! Unsure how as my last babies I never tested positive until the day before or the day my period was due. I’m trying to work out when I conceived and if anyone could help me, I had sex on 7th, 15th, 25th and 26th July. 7th is obviously impossible as I had a period after that, 15th was the first day of my period and 25th and 26th surely it would be too early to test positive from those dates? I’m thinking I could have been fertile on my period? If anyone has any experience or scientific knowledge could you share as I’m worried my “period” was actually a miscarriage? Thank you x

Sorry I’m not familiar with this site and posted it as a comment too by accident x

Nope, 25th and 26th not too early.

Increases the likelihood that it'll be a girl, by the way. "Girl" sperm swim slower but live longer.

And congratulations!

Was your July period definitely a period or could it have been implantation bleeding? Was lighter than normal? The other thing is to get a clearblue digital and it will tell you how many weeks since conception.

Throwawayhelp · 05/08/2023 18:10

@NoIncomeTaxNoVAT no it was very heavy with clots but that’s not unusual for me. I did have a random 2 day spot about a week after my June period ended so I’m concerned THAT was IB and I’ve had a miscarrisge

Hey Hun, I got my first bfp this cycle at 10dpo and it wasn't too faint I think I'd have got a positive at 9dpo which means if you have sex on the 25th July it's been about 12 days? So perfectly normal time to start getting positives. I was 5-6 days away from my next period but that's because I have 27 day cycles and I ovulate slightly early on around cycle day 11. It really varies depending on the cycle length and if you ovulated early, mid cycle or late. But these dates add up to me x

Get a clear blue weeks indicator it will help try and maybe piece it together xxx

Has to be 25th or 26th as they are the only dates after your periods started on 15th. It's not too early to show on test. I have seen plenty of threads with 11dpo with positive tests. Congratulations 🎉
