Current situation is this is mine and my husband's first time trying to conceive, I usually track my cycle on the Flo app and we tried during my fertile window.
I'm currently 15 DPO with my period expected to start yesterday but no sign of it at all which I thought was a good sign. I took 2 pregnancy tests yesterday afternoon, 14 DPO, and both clearblue and first response have a faint positive line (yay!).
However I retook a clearblue rapid response this afternoon and it's very clearly negative and with this I decided to take a digital clearblue test and again, it's negative.
Can someone offer me some words of advise because this is my first time ever trying for a baby and I'm so lost with when I should/shouldn't test and what I should/shouldn't be doing.
Is it still too early to be testing the day after my expected period, or should I wait another week?

Hey, so this soon you really should be using your first urine of the day, as hcg levels will be low near the beginning of pregnancy and as the day goes on it dilutes the hormone in your urine. Definitely leave off the tests for the rest of the day.

I personally don't trust clear blue at all, as they are notorious for evaporation lines. I would recommend first response early response tests, or boots own brand are also good.

Fingers crossed for you

As the PP said, always test with FMU and follow the instructions, only looking during the time specified on the box.

Good luck for tomorrow x

I only had the faintest line at 14 dpo. Wait a few days, snd get cheap test from boots / Tesco. I didn’t get strong line until a week later

Hcg doubles every 48-72 hours so try to wait if you can xx

It's definitely a good sign that 2 different brands of test showed positives, especially taking in to account your period hasn't arrived- are you normally regular?

The tests are better if you use them with your first wee of the day so if you've got any others try them in the morning. The digital are less sensitive (I believe!) so sometimes take a little longer to show up/need to be first wee of the day.

@leopard22 my periods are very regular and generally come 1-2 days within production. I would usually have bad cramps by now and my usual pms symptoms but I can tell my sore boobs and headaches are totally different from a period!
I'm going to leave it a few days and retest in the AM, fingers crossed 🤞 x

@Peony654 did you test within that week? I'm really disheartened by the negative today but now I know it's probably because of the time of day I tested 😬
I'm worried about testing too frequently and getting my hopes up again. I just feel it in my gut as no sign of normal pms symptoms x

Congratulations!!

When you're testing this early you should really only use your morning pee as it contains highest concentration of HCG, which is what the tests must detect to give you a positive result.

I've never used a clear blue test, only the pink line ones. Pink line = positive!

Update... I got my period this morning and I'm incredibly disheartened 😣 I think it may have been a chemical pregnancy because even my husband saw the faint line. Fingers crossed for this cycle we get our positive
