Trying for baby no.2

I am currently trying to conceive my second baby. I ovulated on (17th to 27th July - predicted) and my best day being predicted as 23rd July and on 31st July - 4 DPO I had light spotting however I seemed to come on my period although I am not due to start my period until 7th August, a week later. I was obviously really upset but very confused as this period was so early plus the period only lasted four days.

Has anybody else experienced anything like this?

I’m guessing with such a large ovulation prediction that you are using an app? These are quite often out and just go by averages. You may have ovulated earlier so had an earlier period. It may be implantation bleeding although again you would have ovulated earlier as 4dpo is too early for implantation. Maybe give it until the 7th and then take a test to see.
