Pregnancy and high prolactin

After a 14 week loss in January I'm very paranoid now that I am pregnant again. I am only around 4 weeks pregnant but it was confirmed last month that my prolactin is over 700, which I've read can cause miscarriage and now I'm panicking.

I can't get hold of my doctors until atleast tomorrow, been trying all week and epu won't help either.

Has anyone had a healthy pregnancy with pre-existing prolactin issues or does anyone know anything I can do to help the pregnancy?

@Ttcmumma sorry I can’t help with your specific question but a while ago when I was ttc my blood test showed very high prolactin. The next time I was tested it was in the normal range again. Not sure what caused the changes but maybe it’s something that does fluctuate? Try not to worry, I know it’s hard. The good thing is you are aware of it and the doctor will be able to advise before too long. Good luck and take care

@Bluesky85 thank you! Hoping it's gone down and that's how I've even managed to concieve to begin with. Just such a worry when you've already lost a baby and can't be sure why.

Did you manage to have a baby in the end? Was all ok?

@Ttcmumma that was several years ago now and I didn’t conceive but due to other unrelated issues. Now I am with someone else and have conceived relatively easily- but I have no idea what my prolactin levels are! I’m only 5 weeks so it’s very early days.

@Bluesky85 ah ok, congratulations on your new pregnancy! I'm only 4 weeks so very close to your stage of pregnancy to. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 we both have healthy successful pregnancies x

I had off the chart prolactin pre-pregnancy for a long time. Before pregnancy, I could express 'fluid' from my nipples and my periods were so light. It was basically spotting for 1.5 days. I was advised to stop trying to express as that would keep prolactin levels high. I am currently weeks pregnant and got pregnant first time trying.

@MJGGG that's great to hear! It took .e about 6 months to fall pregnant but now I am pregnant it just worries me a little. I also have fluid I can express and my periods had become very light, I'd say 3 days at a time and barely needed to wear any tampon or pad. Glad to hear your pregnancy is going fine! Gives me hope. Thank you x
