Do I have to do a paid hypnobirthing class

Exactly that... do I need to do a proper class or can anyone recommend me some decent YouTube videos or even articles.

I understand hypnobirthing as a tool to help through north and I am not relying on it as such. But it would be nice to know what it's all about

I found Siobhan Miller's book very useful/practical. Her YouTube channel is the positive birth company. You can pay for an online class too which is obviously much cheaper than an in person one. If you do pay for a class you'll get more in the way of relaxation mp3s but the main ideas/breathing techniques can come from books etc.

The Positive Birth Company digital pack was fantastic for us! Definately worth it.

My local hospital does them free of charge, ask your midwife if they know of any on NHS

I did the bump to baby chapter. It is a paid one but you have the videos to watch as much as you want, plus a friendly support group on Facebook. It’s done by a midwife and she talks about various topics like how to advocate for yourself during pregnancy and birth, how to make tough decisions, what your partner can do during the birth, as well as a lot of other bits. I had a traumatic first birth but my second was a dream and I’m sure it’s because of that course. Not free but worth every penny.
