Hi is anyone from Northumberland and going to have baby at NSECH cramlington? Iv noticed on my badger notes appt for first scan has come on. Is that for the ultrasound scan and does that mean it’s at wansbeck? I’m new to all this don’t they send letters anymore? Where abouts in the hospital do you go? Iv tried ringing midwife’s for 2 days left message but no luck

Yes I'd assume that was your scan, although the lack of info isn't helpful. I'm on badgernotes in a different area and haven't gotten any letters for scans ever. Usually most hospitals you go to the maternity outpatients department or similar, for scans and appointments. if you can't get hold of your midwife to clarity, try calling maternity outpatients at your hospital to check your booking/where to go.

I'm not sure, the 'WANS' bit looks like it could be wansbeck. Could you ask your GP? Haven't been to Wansbeck in years since Cramlington hospital was built, but if its there its well sign posted to find where to.go.

I'm sure there's delivery at wansbeck... I might be wrong tho

Sorry not in your area but I think you’ll get a letter.
In our area the maternity stuff is all paperless but the ultrasound department is separate and does letters.

Try to phone the ultrasound department instead of midwives as they will have the details for your appointment.

I’m in the area and yes, that’ll be a scan at Wansbeck. I’m giving birth at NSECH and have all my scans at Wansbeck-NSECH don’t tend to much “routine” stuff as it’s technically an emergency hospital.

You should also get a letter in the post but you can always call Wansbeck maternity to confirm- they’re really helpful

As for where you go, it’s the antenatal unit, ground floor, there’s loads of signposts once you’re inside. If you park at the back (opposite end to the main entrance) and go in the rear entry next to Costa it’s basically right there. If you go in the main entrance just follow the signs down the big long corridor

I’m having my baby at Cramlington but all scans have been at Rakelane. I think your scans will be Wansbeck. They also send letters in the post but usually a week behind the app.

No I don’t think so unfortunately, iirc you’re allowed one person with you and only adults
