No. They only check if you've given a history of treatment to the cervix or preterm delivery etc

Okay thank you!

No. Cervical length scans are not routine.

I don’t think so but they should . It could identify problems why do people need to wait till they’ve had a problem. I think there should be a routine scan later than 20 weeks too it could save lives

Thanks all. I am a bit surprised, I thought they would have a quick look at it transabdomonally!

I'm not sure how much detail you mean, but at mine the lady definitely looked at it because I remember her saying 'Thats where your baby will come out!'

My trust offer an internal cervix scan at the end of 20 week scan. First pregnancy in 2021 they offered it despite no risk factors and I thought, why not. Current pregnancy they offered it again so seems like a regular thing now for 20 week scans in my area. My hospital is a teaching hospital in London so not sure if that has any influence.

Not routine, if you are at risk then they start from 16 weeks. I have them as I have had Lletz treatment. It needs to be an internal scan to get the measurements and needs to be repeated to look for any changes. So doing one at 20 week scan wouldn’t help much.

Interesting, obviously different in different areas! Thanks all x
