Vasectomy baby

Hi guys, I'm 4 months pregnant and the father had a vasectomy 4 weeks prior to conception. Just wondering if anyone has given birth or knows of someone who had given birth under the same circumstances and if the baby came out okay? I've read a lot of things online such as 4 weeks post-casectomy severe DNA damage occurs in stored sperm that the sperm health declined after 2 weeks, so I'm worried. The 13 week scans were apparently normal but I can't find any personal experiences of how things turned out with the baby. Please let me know if you have any information from first hand experience or through someone close of how baby turned out. Thanks 💛

You clearly misinterpreted what I actually wrote here... I asked if my baby would be okay not "how did this happen?". You've made up your own story in your head about my circumstances and inserted rude, hurtful and unnecessary comments. You missed the whole point entirely, the question I asked is completely different from what you've come up with in your head. Now leave I have reported you. Next time just don't comment if you have nothing of value to add and nothing nice to say and that is all I have to say to you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, you've obviously decided that this baby is wanted, whatever the circumstances are.
I've never heard of birth defects caused by conceiving after a vasectomy. Have you had a chance yet to ask your midwife or GP or anyone else giving you pregnancy care? What is completely understandable in pregnancy is to worry. There's so much that you can't know and the implications are frightening. So women worry, and it can be hard to find reassurance. I honestly think if this possibility was more of a thing it would be more widely known about. I hope your medical team can reassure you and you can enjoy your pregnancy and give birth to a lovely, healthy baby. Very best of luck. 💐

As I said- I can't reassure the OP about any possible problems in her pregnancy, although I am as sure as I can be that the medical professionals looking after her will be able to.However, there is an important issue here about vasectomy and contraception. And I am sure the OP is not alone in being misled by a man on the subject. Surely she would be the first to not want this to happen to anyone else?

Hello, yes I've done all those first trimester tests, those came back promising! I guess I'm just a worrier and I need to figure out how to stop worrying now and just trust the universe :)

@Missmarie87 - I think you missed that this thread was from 15mths ago! IF the OP kept the baby, it would have been born months ago.

Oh I seen the dates, was still wishing good luck to the curious lady as having a baby is always a challenge prepared or not, and I felt the need to let her know she’s not on her own and that cruel person is the one who is the problem I don’t get why people are so rude!
