Handhold please, 12 days late but too scared to test

I am aware this is ridiculous and I should just put my big girl pants on and test but I am too nervous about the result and sticking my head in the sand a bit.

As to not drip feed I have a 1 year old and haven't had normal or regular periods since born but the last one I had in June was what I would consider normal so was expecting the same this month. I don't know for sure that I am 12 days late because of this. I am on the pill so have not been trying to get pregnant. Since the day my period was due I have had on and off cramps and back pain like it's going to come any moment but it just hasn't.

I had loads of health complications with last pregnancy which is why I'm nervous to go through it again, mentally I'm unsure but also I know i would get my head around it too. Financially not the best time but again it's doable.

Hand hold and words of wisdom welcome

Got your hand hold for you - along with a gentle nudge to test and just get the knowledge either way. The worst feeling ever is not knowing, and you can't make any decisions until you know the facts. You'll feel relieved to know the answer x

Hi @Pastapoodles here for you hun. Also sending you a gentle nudge to take a test xx

Pastapoodles · 31/07/2023 15:48

Thankyou both
I am gearing myself up to go to the shops and get one. Awful reality of living in a small village where everyone knows your business is putting me off, might drive half an hour just to not be spotted 😂
I agree I need to know either way so I can process it.
I shall report back when mission is accomplished

Good luck OP.
The longer you leave this the harder it will be, but you know that already.

Go and get that test, we're all thinking of you x

Handmaid2019 · 31/07/2023 16:11

Good luck. Keep us posted Brew

Listen to a podcast, may help !

Pastapoodles · 31/07/2023 18:16

I womaned up and did the test
It's negative, interesting pang of sadness actually but by no means will be rushing in to ttc but if it had of happened against all odds then I'd have made it work.
Thanks for the handhold and the nudge ladies!

Well done on biting the bullet and taking a test. Glad you have an answer x

newfloorplease · 31/07/2023 18:18

Well done @Pastapoodles.
You can put your mind at rest. For this month anyway. Take extra precautions so you don't have a repeat of the FEAR.

Pastapoodles · 31/07/2023 18:22

100 percent!
DH was very chilled about it. We have been spoilt with DC. Most chilled out baby who sleeps and is just a dream. I doubt we would be that lucky again. One more is on the cards one day but in reality we need to move house at the very least and a couple of pay rises would be much appreciated also 😂

Ah that's great.

My periods returned at 6 months but they were all over place since then. I feel like only now 7 months later cycle is becoming regular. Enjoy your 1 year old. Smile
