I fell in shower

I'm 22 weeks and fell in the shower when I was picking up some bits that had fallen. I didn't land in my belly and think I lost my balance when bending down.

I called triage and they said no bleeding or pain so don't worry.

I was in blood thinners until last week.

Should I be worried?

Sorry to hear that, OP. That must have been quite a shock! Are you hurt anywhere?

temosmail · 30/07/2023 23:44

No. My hand was sore because I think I tried to fall on all fours. I didn't fall with any force etc.

Ive had a few cramps in my stomach but I don't know if they are normal ;/

Maybe have a lie down, get some rest. Are you alone?

I fell and landed on my tummy when I was 13 weeks or so pregnant. I was distraught. By coincidence I had an appointment with my obs later that day and I told him my worries.

He said that a foetus is like a ping pong ball in a bucket of water and is well protected. He also said that the only woman to lose a baby after a fall was Scarlett O'Hara in Gone with the Wind!!

Having said that, if you are worried, get checked out. Can you feel the baby moving?

If in doubt get checked out, phone triage and tell them about the cramping. It's probably nothing, but just to be safe I'd get checked over

I called triage and they told me not to worry.

My placenta is anterior so generally I don't feel my baby :(

It was only a few cramps...,. And the midwife knew.
