Hi all I will be 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow, and still experiencing extreme aversion to pretty much all food. I literally have to force myself to eat, I am starting to think I will hate food forever Confused I went off certain foods in my first pregnancy, but this time I have literally gone off all food. It's getting me down, and Iv lost a stone over the last 5 weeks
Has anyone else experienced this??
Thanks

I had terrible food aversion, I had to force myself to eat, when I did start eating it felt better and I half enjoyed it, but it was getting to eat was problem. I'd say try to eat some fruits & try to build up an appetite, is there anything at all doesn't make you feel sick? Crisps or anything no matter how unhealthy?

Literally swallowing every mouthful is a misery. I have pretty much been living off cheese on toast for months, it's the only thing I can slightly tolerate. And even that takes me like an hour to force down. I was prescribed anti sickness tablets but the last lot gave me severe stomach pains and diorreaha and now I'm scared to take them Confused

Yes l did up until 20 weeks. I lost 2 stone

Eat whatever you can stomach is my advice. I found sour foods and anything lemony really helped me. Also boiled sweets.

Don't worry about healthy foods, anything is better then nothing

Yep! It’s horrendous so you have my sympathies! I just stuck to bland food, ate little and often, and avoided anything smelly. Try to stay hydrated but otherwise just get whatever you can in you and don’t worry about it being healthy.

Thank you. Was starting feel like it's just me and like it's never going to end 😩

I had this with all 3 of my sons ! I lost weight around bump. The minute they were born I was back to being hungry and was also breastfeeding exclusively so was hungry all the time , felt great and the breastfeeding kept be lean and v slim. Maybe it’s a boy baby thing!

@Upsetrethis it's good to hear that you went back to enjoying and wanting food again! I already have a daughter and wasn't like this with her (well nowhere near this bad anyway) so yes maybe it could be a boy this time! X

I feel your pain I'm struggling to keep anything down even dry toast! I'm nearly 12 weeks . I can manage a few digestive biscuits , and apples and melon in small quantities and some ice cream how and then I've lost a stone already. Water helps me sipping it when it's cold and maybe an ice pop . This is my 4th baby and definitely my worst pregnant currently got 2 girls and a boy and was never this bad. Good luck mama we've got this

@Sunshinevibes91 you have my sympathy it's awful isn't it! I quite like the ice pops too every now and again. Yes we just need to keep strong 💪🏼 thanks lovely xx

Hello,
Reading this saved me today! Knowing I’m not the only one. I’m 16 weeks & still force feeding myself practically!
how is yours now? Have things settled?? 🙏🏼
boiled sweets were also great for me especially to ignore the horrible metallic taste! x

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/09/2023 14:31

I had a plain toasted muffin in the morning, then nothing more than ginger biscuits, the occasional apple, glasses of squash and wine gums for about 12 to 16 weeks. I also lost about a stone - only time in my whole life I've ever lost weight!

By the way, I always understood you were more likely to be sick with girls? My first pg (girl) was definitely worse for nausea than second pg (boy).

@LouiseS05 I'm 18 weeks now and am finally enjoying food again!! Give yourself a bit more time.... it will pass! I thought it never would but it did! Hope it gets better really soon for you xx
