Hiatus hernia pain in third trimester

I've had a hiatus hernia for 15 years or so and some times it gives my acid reflux and pain where my bra sits but nothing major. The last few days the pain where my bra woul be (been home so not had a bra on) has been bad and gets worse when I lay down. Acid reflux isn't great but I can cope with it. I've got omeprazole and liquid gaviscon stuff but just wondered if anyone else has suffered with pain and if they found anything that helped?

Mine flared up really badly when I was pregnant with my second child, it looked like a tennis ball poking out of my pregnancy bump at times. I suffered through not finding anything that helped but eventually had to get the surgery to repair it when baby was 9 months old. It sorted out all my pain and haven’t had any issues since.

I asked for it to be repaired when I was first diagnosed but my doctor said I was too young to have a hiatus hernia and that my stomach had always been my Achilles Hill and I just have to put up with it :( glad you got yours sorted.

Hopefully once you’ve given birth it eases for you. I was 30 when i had the surgery, a really nasty viral infection which left me coughing badly had meant the hernia had pushed out more and i couldn’t ease it back in any. GP referred me and said it could be a 2 year wait for the surgery, so i ended up paying privately simply because i was in so much pain and couldn’t manage day to day tasks. I had the surgery within 2 months and it was life changing.
