16 weeks pregnant - need reassurance

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has been in the same boat. I am 15w+6 and have literally no pregnancy symptoms, not had any from day one. I don’t feel pregnant, nor do I look it. My stomach is very flat and I haven’t gained any weight at all. I had a healthy baby on my 13w scan but I have booked myself a private scan next week for reassurance as I am so so anxious and have convinced myself that it won’t be okay.

Has anyone else experienced a pregnancy like this. I’m hoping because I am tall (5’8) it just isn’t showing like others at the same point as me. But I am so very nervous :(

It’s completely normal to be anxious, you’re one of the lucky ones to not be experiencing symptoms, and it’s very common not to be showing yet, especially if you have strong abdominal muscles. I’m the next couple of weeks you’ll start feeling those first movements, but until then you’re in a sort of limbo phase where you just have to trust everything is ok. Hopefully the scan helps ease some anxiety for you.

I was the same with my first - absolutely no symptoms and no bump until I woke one day about 16/17 weeks with a bump and a wiggly baby. Hope your scan goes okay ❤️

I experienced symptoms but didn't actually have a bump til I was about 20 ish weeks and definitely didn't gain any weight until 28 weeks.

Hi, I’m same dates as you and also don’t have a bump. My stomach is a little rounder than previously but seems to have been this size since 12 weeks. I’m also tall (half an inch shorter than you) and haven’t gained any weight at all. It’s definitely a weird time, I’m considering getting a private scan before the 20 week one as well as it just seems like such a long wait!!

I found out I was pregnant at around 14 weeks, had my first scan yesterday and baby was wriggling around on the screen. I asked if it was actually moving because I couldn’t feel anything and she said it’s totally normal that I might not feel anything for weeks yet. You be also not had any symptoms apart from sore boobs, but I have that all the time before pregnancy. Think we’re just lucky. I hope all went well/ goes well with your scan xx
