Big baby?

I’m 38 weeks and measuring 41 weeks.
I’ve had several growth scans which put baby 2 weeks ahead of dates, but the latest scan is showing 3 weeks ahead.
I’m clear for diabetes or anything else that may result in a big baby.
Fluid levels are fine too.
I have been booked in for a final growth scan today so they can decide on the best course of action. Baby is already showing at 10lb according to recent measurements.
Is there a chance they will induce me or request I agree to a c-section?
I’m scared of going to my due date and having a baby too large to come out naturally resulting in problems for baby and myself.
We have had to rush out and buy a mixture of bigger clothes sizes as my other children were in the 6-7lb ranges at birth so I only stocked up on newborn.
If anyone can share their experiences I’d be really grateful, I’m a bag of nerves at the moment!

Hi @Departmentofkids i'm not sure how accurate their measurements always are. My baby was measuring over 8lb but she was 6lb 8oz when she arrived.
I would speak to your midwife, if they're happy to do a c section then i would go for it xx

My first baby was estimated to be over 10lbs and was also breech so I did have a c-section. She was actually 9lbs 7 though so big but not enormous - I don’t think the scans are terribly accurate.

My baby was estimated over 13lb so was advised to have section. He was 8lb 12

Wow they are some discrepancies!
You’d think these days the technology would be more accurate!
I’d be worried about inducing the baby unnecessarily and they’re an average size, but on the same note I don’t want the risk of a huge baby getting stuck and needing a c-section regardless. Such a hard choice to make.
Did you find movements changed with a bigger baby? I can still feel them moving but not the hard kicks I previously had, more like rolling and swishing? My midwife said it’s normal when they run out of space but is this normal regardless of baby’s weight?

My 3rd DC measured 2 weeks bigger all through my pregnancy and was close to 12lbs when I had him 11 days overdue. However, it was a smooth labour and the easiest of the 3!

With my son I had my last growth scan 2 weeks before he arrived. He was measuring 6lbs12oz.. 2 weeks later when he arrived he weighed a big 9lbs 6oz...

To be honest I don't know if I believe the measurements

I had a scan at 38 weeks and was told he was already 8lbs and likely 9.5 by the time of his due date so was really worried in case I went 2 weeks over and he'd be even bigger.

He was born on his due date and was 7lbs 12. We'd been so worried he'd be big we only bought 0-3 months and had to go shopping when he was a couple of days old and drowning in the massive 0-3 stuff!
