Hi everyone,

I have read so many Mumsnet forums over the last year of ttc and they've helped me so much, I would love some advise on my situation.

I am currently 1 day late for my period (14dpo) and took a cheap Morrisons test this morning, it is soooo faint that it's making me so worried it's a chemical :(

The line is definitely pink in person but surely it should be darker by now? Any advice would be much appreciated 🙏

I can definitely see a line. Are you certain of when you ovulated?

First test I was 2 days late but around 10-12 dpo as I ovulate quite late. Now almost 14 weeks. First two test were Morrisons cheapies too. Maybe test again in a few days.

@BB2818 thank you for sharing the photo of your tests, that’s really helpful.

I was using ovulation tests this cycle so have a good idea of ovulation, can’t say with 100% certainty but it is usually around cycle day 15 and my cycles are always 28 days.

I did take another Morrisons test this morning because I’m so anxious and the line has gotten ever so slightly darker not enough to put my mind at ease but I think I should probably step away from the tests for now!

I’ve attached the picture, top one is my test from yesterday morning and bottom is from this morning.

99% sure I’ll bleed soon but I do have that 1% hope 🙏

That’s definitely much clearer today. Congratulations 🎉

I can’t remember how much HCG the Morrisons tests detect but when I had my bloods done to confirm a few days later it was around the same HCG levels the Morrisons test need. So no wonder they were quite faint.

Looks great OP. These aren't the most sensitive tests. I'd say if you did a FRER it would be a blazing positive.

Congratulations!

My first positive was as faint as yours is (just a cheap strip test) but I got a really clear line on a FRER!

it also took a good 10 days for the lines to get dark on any cheapies

@Alloveragain3 @BB2818 @FirstMondayInMay thank you all so much for commenting, that’s really reassuring 😊 I had a MC in March this year and I’m just so scared of history repeating itself.

I’m two days late for my period are you sure the one from this morning is dark enough? (will be about 16dpo)

I think there’s a shortage of FRER tests at the minute, they seem to be out of stock everywhere but I have ordered a Clearblue digital and a blue dye test coming tomorrow so hopefully that will be more clear! X

I think everyone is different. I didn’t get an extremely dark test until about a week after my first test. Which I only took as they wanted to redo bloods as although they were rising they weren’t ‘high’ - so I panicked that I hadn’t had a dark test. Now going on estimated due date I wasn’t even 4 weeks when I was testing on the photo above.

Sorry for your loss. I know this will all come with heightened anxiety. I had an early miscarriage last year. The same week I got my positive this year is the exact same week as last year. I only got faint tests they didn’t darken. The only reason I tested last year was because of the sickness. I was actually bleeding so thought AF had arrived I then continued to bleed for weeks and knew everything wasn’t ok from the start.

@EverlastingDaisy hello, I hope you’re well. Do you mind me asking how you got on? Currently in a similar position - 14dpo with a very faint line and panicking following a mc in July x
