Transverse baby

I’m 36 weeks pregnant and my baby is transverse with a low lying anterior placenta so there’s very little chance of moving. I know I’ll be having a c-section and I’ve made my peace with that. The problem is I can’t sleep, the baby’s head is on my right side and feet to the left and whatever side I try to sleep on, I’m dead worried of squashing the baby. 😢 what do I do?

Im 34 weeks and my baby is in exactly the same position!! Head nearly under my ribs and feet kicking opposite side - so uncomfortable and I find my biggest issue is breathing/breathlessness.

Good news is - you can't squash your baby. There's so much amniotic flux and tissue around it they're well protected - even from bumps and knocks and bending.

I can feel my baby's head as though it is sooo close to the surface of my skin on my side so I understand the fear of it! But baby moves a little if it's uncomfortable/there's pressure.

I'm always reassured by the way the midwives/drs press and manipulate the stomach...they're not exactly gentle and baby is always fine!

Mine was transverse all the way through but moved to head down between 35 and 38 weeks. It was a huge relief when it happened and I had a vaginal birth. I slept on my left side with a v pillow under the bump, and the only time I was sick during pregnancy was if I had to lie on my back for any length of time!

Thank you so much. That’s very reassuring.
I’ve been up all night as whatever side I try to sleep on I get worried that I’m hurting my baby. I feel a bit relieved now.

My baby was the same all throughout my pregnancy! She quickly make clear when she felt uncomfortable with the constant kicking. Don’t worry about sleeping on your side as it’s still the safest position and your baby will be okay!
