21 weeks and never had urine tested

Is this normal?

In my first pregnancy I seem to recall having been asking for a urine sample at every appointment, midwife or antenatal! Have the guidelines changed?

@randommangoandpear mine was checked at both my booking and 16 week appointments with the midwife, so as far as I'm aware it's standard practice! Where are you based?

Maybe ask at your next appointment? I'm sure if they felt the need to then they would, perhaps different trusts do things differently 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've had my urine checked at every single midwife appointment. Perhaps ask them why at the next appointment, maybe they do things differently in your health board.

Urine and blood pressure should be checked at every midwife appointment

You should have had your urine checked at your booking appointment but then it doesn’t need to be done again until 25 weeks

Oops sorry that link does actually say that it should be dipped at 16 weeks too, it’s been a while since I worked in the community but when I did we didn’t do it at 16 weeks

Standard practice here with my midwife. Every appointment I have with her she asks me for a urine sample..

Your midwife should always ask for a urine sample to check for an infections etc etc

I had my urine tested at every appointment.

Buy self kits from Amazon, Boots etc to reassure yourself, and remind them to do one next appointment

I’m 38 weeks and think I’ve had at least 4 checks
