Intense cramping early pregnancy

Has anyone else had really bad cramping around 4 weeks? AF is due today and for the past few days the cramping has been really intense, but no bleeding. Everything I've read online says the cramping should be mild but this is much more intense.

Have you had a positive test?

@MonsterCalling I probably should have included that in my OP 😂 yes I got a BFP at 11dpo. Top test is 11dpo and bottom one is from yesterday 14dpo

I did. I didn’t know I was pregnant though- thought it was horrendous period pain, curled up in bed with hot water bottle. I had pain throughout pregnancy, admitted with braxton hicks towards the end needed to be monitored. To me it felt like period pain….

I had put on weight- tight jeans! I think it was round ligament pain. Eased off more toward the end, but then DD was breech and her head was right under my boobs, centre of chest and that hurt a lot!

Just wanted to check! I didn’t have cramping with my pregnancies but some women do. It is probably normal BUT if it persists, or is particularly concentrated on one side, or if you get a weird random pain in your shoulder, you will need to be seen at the EPU to rule out an ectopic.

Where is your camping?
In this successful pregnancy I had cramping like period pain lower stomach which at the time I was worried didn't feel normal but apparently is.
In my ectopic pregnancy however the cramping was so bad I thought I was dying and it was all on one side rather than lower stomach.

@Missingmyusername @Lillybobs86 yeah mine is like really bad period pain, all centred in lower abdomen. Yesterday it was pretty much all day. I already have a GP appointment booked for Wednesday to discuss anti sickness medication so I'll mention the cramping then if it's still really bad.

I had loads of cramping with my son! Way worse than period pain.

This time I have quite a lot of cramping and pulling too. 🙈 As long as it's not horrific and you aren't bleeding I'd say you're all good 😊

Yes I had this for my 3rd pregnancy and was worried I would miscarry as I hadn’t had this with previous pregnancies. She will be 21 soon! Hope it works out well for you.

@naggy095 did this turn out to be ok in the end? I'm 4 to 5 weeks at the moment and had painful cramps at times so would love to know your outcome xx
