Did I have a chemical pregnancy?

Hi all,
Emotional rollercoaster here. I had light spotting for a day around a week ago which I thought was strange. This never usually happens. I've also been feeling dizzy and a bit off so I decided to do a pregnancy test 2 days ago.

It looked negative at first but around half an hour later there was a definite pink second line (although slightly faded). I know you aren't supposed to look at the test after 10 minutes but I've never had a second line appear even after hours have passed.

I was panicking at first (not trying to get pregnant) but then became more comfortable with the idea.

However, yesterday I started to get cramps that felt like period cramps and this morning the cramps became more severe and i'm bleeding heavy.

I guess this was a chemical :( I don't know how I feel.

The line would have come up in the time frame if it was a positive.
other tests may not have had lines show up after such time but it’s known that this can , and does, happen hence the instructions to not read after the time specified.

If it came up after the time frame then it was an evap, so probably not a chemical

@Redpanda9 this was how I found out I was pregnant with my daughter, coming back to a test I’d left for longer than the advised time and seeing a faint line had developed, as that progressed I tested again later in the week and got a clear positive.

Was your period later than expected? That would suggest it may be the case if you have regular cycle lengths.
