Confused about my due date

I had my booking appointment on Wednesday and she estimated I was about 8+6 then which would make me 9 weeks now.

My last period was the 21st May and all of the online calculators vary so I've honestly no idea what is right or wrong! Based on conception date I would be about 7 weeks. I got my positive text on June 24th.

I'm having absolutely no symptoms either. If it wasn't for the positive test or missed period I'd have no idea. So surely I must be earlier on than I think?

Until your scan they work it from date of last period not conception date so 21st may is where they count from. So you would be 9 weeks on Sunday. Not everyone experiences symptoms if you are concerned you could go for an early scan privately

@Glitterstars Yes I was thinking of doing that. Sounds daft but I don't think it all feels real at the moment until I see the baby for the first time! Worlds apart from my first pregnancy where I felt horrendous until about 18 weeks

They base your date from your last period. When you have your 12 weeks scan they will then give you an updated due date and tell you more accurately how many weeks you are.

I think I was about 8 weeks before any symptoms started but they disappeared very quickly. I was worried and felt that I needed the symptoms to feel pregnant but all was well. Think I was hit harder at the end of pregnancy with cramps etc

What midwife said it is right - my last period was 17th May and I’m 9+3. My symptoms have been minimal apart from tiredness! The scan will give a more accurate due date

The 40 weeks of pregnancy aren't counted from when you conceive but from your last period. That's because everyone's cycles are different, most people don't track ovulation so it can be off by a few days and sperm can live for several days so you can't be certain which sex conceived the child if you're having it regularly.

Last period just means "we know for a fact you weren't pregnant on this date" so they measure from there. That's babies can come any time between 38 and 42 weeks without anyone being concerned.
