Gestational diabetes after 30+ weeks??

Hello everyone,

I passed my gestational diabetes test at 28 weeks (I’m 36 weeks right now) and unfortunately I eat a lot of sugar. Jams, sugary yoghurts, biscuits, honey, chocolate…
I’ve been feeling really really light headed recently when I’m hungry. Thirsty (but it’s summer and I’m hot so idk).
Can you get gestational diabetes later on in pregnancy that isn’t detected during the screening at 28 weeks?

Thanks in advance 🙌🏼

Yes you can but your midwife should be checking your urine at each appointment for sugar which should help pick it up.
Not too late to make some dietary changes to improve the health of you and baby in the run up to birth

thank you! I do take a urine test every time myself at the midwife and the machine prints out a receipt and one marker says GLU - norm. Shouldn’t that mean glucose - normal?

100%. Mine was diagnosed at 37 weeks with my last pregnancy.
