Baby Delivery

Hi All, looking for advice.

I have had two children (VB) but both ended with forceps delivery. Second one was by far the worst and had tearing etc also.

Basically I am expecting child number 3 (very blessed) and I am asking for a C Section as I am terrified to go through the same forcep delivery for a third time.
I have met with my consultant and went over my options and they are happy enough to sign off on the C Section but asking me to consider a Natural birth as this doesn't happen three times in a row.

Has there been anyone who has went through a similar experience can advise me whether a natural birth is actually possible after two failed forcep deliveries?

It's certainly possible to have a straightforward VB for no3, but two assisted deliveries is quite rare in itself.

Do you think there could be a mechanical issue? Any previous spinal/pelvic injuries? Or even something like a broken leg or ankle that could effect your pelvic alignment? If so, worth going to an osteopath over the course of your pregnancy.

Also, what what were the circumstances of your previous births? How did they unfold? Did you feel safe and supported throughout?

Lots of things to think about that could effect your birth.

But ultimately it's your choice how you give birth and if you want to have an ELCS you are completely within your rights to have one. They might give you a little push back, but it's your choice.

with my second pregnancy my girl was back to back and required a rotational forcep delivery which was awful. I have asked my consultant if there was an issue with my pelvic area as it has happened twice and he has assured me there isn’t any I just required assistance but my recovery from the second was brutal and I am afraid it will happen again.

just don’t know anyone who has had forcep delivery twice and gone on to have a third naturally.
