Pregnancy dating scans - measuring ahead?!

I had my dating scan today. Measuring 12 weeks but I know for a fact I conceived 11 weeks 2 days ago.

Has this happened to anyone else?! Is it normal?!

Both my babies were measuring a couple of weeks ahead throughout the pregnancies. I think 2 weeks either side is very normal. It could just mean baby is slightly on the larger side.

They don't grow on an exact trajectory. In fact all through pregnancy you could be measuring a week or so ahead or behind at any given point. There's a wide range of normal so don't worry x

I was moved 4 days earlier on this pregnancy. Last pregnancy was moved back 4 days and all was fine then. I'm just assuming this baby might be a bit bigger. It's not an exact science unfortunately x

It’s dated from the 1st day of your last period, with the assumption that you ovulate on day 14.

So you are “2 weeks pregnant” when you ovulate. If you ovulated before or after this, the dates will be adjusted at your scan.

I ovulated on day 21, so when I went for scan, I was 12 weeks according to my last period, but it was adjusted to 11 weeks. Which I was expecting because I knew when I ovulated.

I was moved a week ahead with DD even tho I knew the EXACT date she was conceived. It was nice though as it was one less week to have to wait!

@Hazelnuttella, yes similar to you I was expecting to be 11 weeks 2 days as I know when I ovulated, but it came back as 12 days! But reading the posts this doesn't seem unusual!

I've also had my due date brought forward xx
