10 weeks pregnant cramping

looking for some advice please
im 10 weeks and 3 days, had scans every week since 6 weeks and saw the heartbeat. The last being last Monday at 9 weeks.
last night at 2am, I was woken with awful pain in my tummy, which I then didn’t sleep properly for the rest of the night. It’s a dull ache is how I describe it, but quite a painful dull ache. I can’t say it’s like a period pain, but it’s really hard to describe. It’s right in my knicker line, not my tummy. So very low down.
I took paracetamol this morning at 8am, it’s went for a bit but then I vomited then it came back around 12pm today and 6pm now, just took more tablets and got a hot water bottle.
I’ve rang my EPU and they have booked me in for a scan at 9am tomorrow (I’ve had 3 previous MC’s at 6 weeks each one.. so I’m definitely further along this time)
im so worried. No bleeding, just this constant ache in the lowest part.

any advice or stories are appreciated.

thanks xx

Oh also to add, my boobs are no longer sore, they are still bigger than what they were but not sore.

I have been sick this morning and yesterday so still have that symptom I guess. But not much else.

With my first pregnancy I had no symptoms other than what felt like a permanently sore stomach. I was worried but was told not to be as it’s the uterus expanding and making room for the growing baby.

I now have a very active 15 month old!

As hard as it try not to worry! Try rest tonight knowing you’ll get to see your growing baby in the morning!

Weefreetiffany · 19/07/2023 18:56

Probably constipation. At ten weeks my boobs started to get less sore too, try not to worry! I’m a few weeks ahead of you, also had multiple early miscarriages. It’s natural to worry, try to rest.

AlwaysBeKind23 · 19/07/2023 19:06

Thanks both. I just want to go to sleep so that tomorrow comes quicker!
I am also shivering so wonder if I have maybe a bug?

Quick update, I now have green discharge (sorry TMI)

do you still think it’s ok?

My guess would be a UTI. Green discharge isn’t usually a sign of MC. Unless the pain is quite severe it’s more likely to be from an infection or possibly ligament/growing pains. Everything does have to stretch quite a lot. Are you on progesterone due to previous losses?

bagforlifeamnesty · 19/07/2023 20:35

Sorry just saw you said you’re shivering, almost certainly a UTI or other infection down there. They should test your urine at the EPU anyway x

Hi, no I’m not in progesterone. the other losses were very early, chemical pregnancies I guess. Should I be on progesterone?
I did wonder about a UTI but I have no burning when I pee or anything, but definitely something going on.. this dull ache isn’t getting any better x

I had terrible pains similar to what you’ve described. Everything was fine. I worked out, that I’m replacing alcohol with fizzy drinks and alcohol free beer - it was causing me the pain. As soon as I cut out fizzy drinks, I was fine again. Could it be some new food/drink?

AlwaysBeKind23 · 19/07/2023 21:07

Oh wow I have drank some fizzy drinks lately! Didn’t even think of that!! Thank you x

I'd say uti also - I got a bad kidney infection once and didn't really have much pain weeing prior!
Hopefully Epu can check this and scan

Fab973 · 20/07/2023 06:49

All the best for today OP let us know how you get on

bagforlifeamnesty · 20/07/2023 07:13

It’s much more likely to be UTI than a reaction to fizzy drinks unless you feel like you’ve been struggling with trapped wind.

Im 11 weeks and have had a UTI this past week which the midwife discovered when I went for a routine appointment. I had no symptoms at all so you don’t have to have pain while peeing etc to have a UTI. However you DO have symptoms of a UTI because you have lower abdominal pain.

bagforlifeamnesty · 20/07/2023 07:16

Also re: progesterone yes you should have been offered it by your Trust around 6 weeks. Some only offer it if you’re presenting with bleeding but after 3 losses they should be classing it as recurrent MC so should offer you progesterone even without bleeding.

however by 10 weeks if everything is still progressing ok then the benefits will be minimal, the placenta will have started producing it now so pessaries are less effective. By 10-12 weeks most Trusts say you can stop (however mine get you to take it until 16 weeks 😩)

AlwaysBeKind23 · 20/07/2023 11:37

Thanks for all of your comments.

had a bit of a shock at the scan. Baby is there and heartbeat present but they have told me there is excess fluid around the neck (3.6mm) - they like it to be under 3.5? And also fluid around the tummy 0.8mm.

they have told me this can indicate a chromosome abnormality or a potential heart defect.

they have booked me in for Monday for a fetal medicine referral for a Nip test? (I think it’s called that).. I have no idea how long results take of that.

they seemed quite concerned and said it’s a 50/50 chance of something being wrong.

my mind is everywhere.

@AlwaysBeKind23 this must be really stressful and worrying op. The blood test will be a lot more accurate and give you some answers.
I am not in the uk so not sure how long they take to come back in your area (it's about 2 weeks where I am)

thinking of you!

Thank you Mangotango39 - I am hoping it is quicker here but who knows. Where are you based?

I’m sorry to hear that, got my fingers crossed it all works out for the best. I’ve got my scan next week and I’m also nervous and hoping for the best.
