Hi everyone, I’m 36 weeks pregnant and for the last 5 days I’ve had on and off period like cramps, nothing too painful just mild & definitely there. I’ve also had loose stools. But todays has been a ridiculous amount. I’ve been 7 times today already… I don’t feel unwell or anything and I don’t feel as if I have the bug. Google’s telling me labour is approaching very soon? I do feel as if it’s coming soon, I panicked today and got organised lol. Did any of you have this symptom before labour?

Just wanted to say I'm 36+6 and I was the same for about 2 weeks, still am right now. from what I've been told it's just our body preparing us for labour!

Yep. I was so constipated and then at 34 weeks pretty much emptied my bowls and gave birth the next day

Throughout pregnancy I was constipated and had lots of mucus in my nose and throat. A week before labour, the constipation vanished and the mucus evaporated. 5 days before labour I had a bloody show (aka lump of bloody stuff appear). The day I gave birth, I felt restless and hungry, then vomited when I tried to eat. Shortly after that the contractions began.

Thank you all. It could be labour starting but also could be nothing. I’ve been to the toilet another 2 times, making it 9 times today. So strange and not something I’ve ever done. Cramps also seem to be getting stronger? Really feel as if something is happening. Ahh!

Keep us updated OP. I’ve been the same on the toilet front and cramps on and off very low in pelvis. It’s been about a week for me now. Good luck xx

I had cramps (bad enough that I had to stop what I was doing and crouch/not talk/just breathe for a couple of minutes) for about three weeks before labour. Maybe just once or twice a day. I did have looser stool. I thought it was because baby had dropped and things were more squashed but can't remember if I read that or made that up.

I've had 4 and I know that proper labour will start in the next 24 hours if I just don't want to be around anyone and want them all to go away. Like if someone is talking to me in my head im like just shut up and go away and I just want to go and hide somewhere (like a cat 😅). The cramps and loose bowels just really told me I was just heavily pregnant.

If the cramps are coming in waves or getting more intense I think you should probably seek advice as you're not quite 37 weeks. Mine were sort of one offs during the day so fit the bill for braxton hicks.

Days leading up felt cranky, on off dull period cramp. Then loose stools.

I had this but also had terrible indigestion to the point where I was being sick purely with indigestion. Felt baby wasn’t moving as much too so went upto the hospital and they said it was all fine and it was too early to go (was 38 weeks)….12 hours later my waters broke.

I had watery stools as I went into labour with DD2. I was also sick once or twice.

No such with DD1 though - I just started bleeding out of nowhere.

I had very mild period type cramps in the night. So mild that I didn't even think it could be the start. This was at 38+6. But then at 11am waters suddenly broke. Baby out at 3pm. So symptoms started only 12 hours before baby born! The day before, I would've been shocked if someone had told me I'd have baby the next day!
