Weight gain in pregnancy

Evening, I'm 26 weeks pregnant with my first and I have put on 13lb since the start of my pregnancy. The last 5 weeks I've put on 1lb every week. Is that a normal amount of weight to have gained? I'm not eating anymore than I usually would. My mother in law keeps calling me podge and people keep saying "are you sure there's not two in there, oh wow you're big aren't you" it's making me feel really self conscious.

I'd ignore what people say. I didn't put on any extra weight in pregnancy yet people still asked if I'm having twins. Then another person on the same day would say how small and neat my bump was! Baby born bang on 50th percentile. I think people just don't know what to say to pregnant women so end up saying anything!

I agree: people say whatever comes into their heads and it's often really stupid.

If it makes you feel any better I've just discovered that eating fried carbs eases my morning sickness so I've put on four pounds in a week 🙃

I put on 28lbs with my first and I’m 18 weeks with my second and gained 13lbs already! I’m eating like a pig.

Try and eat healthy and stick to normal amounts (I didn’t with my first) but absolutely ignore your MIL and anyone else that has the audacity to comment like that.

(When I say normal amounts, obviously you’ll be eating more at this stage but I seriously over indulged and was having 2 dinners and dessert at one point with my first 😳🤣)

I'm 20 weeks now and it said on my app the other day on average most people gain 8lbs to 14lbs by now so I think that sounds within normal range to me and definitely not excessive x
