I’m currently 35 weeks pregnant. At my very first scan at 11 weeks, the sonographer instantly said ‘wow, your baby has footballer legs, very long’ I then had a scan a week later at 12 weeks where the sonographer said ‘oh my god, I can’t get over the legs, really long’ the same thing at 20 weeks, and 28 weeks. I was told every time my baby has these really long legs. I had a scan last week and the doctor had mentioned the length of baby’s legs (obvs no surprise) then the midwife observing went on to say, ‘oh, wow, your baby has the legs of a baby that’s full term’ and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. I’ve been told at every scan by different sonographers/doctors that my baby has these really long legs… has anyone been told this before? and how long was your baby’s legs? it’s never been mentioned as a concern, but I’m just so excited to see how long his legs really are when he arrives!!! Let me know if you’ve experienced this before? I’m interested to know… x

Yep. Although they actually said my baby daughters legs were so long she looked like a spider!! - she's 16 this month and we still laugh about it now. I'm 5.5. She's 5.6, but still some growing to do. She does have long (ish) legs. She's not actually a spider.

My eldest, I had a scan the day before she was born and her legs were that of a 6 week baby. She was long and straight into 0-3 month clothes. I don't actually know how tall she'll be when she's older though because she could be like me with a small torso but very long legs. She's the youngest in the year but you'd never guess by looking at her.

My DS, in utero, was scanned by a obstetric consultant because one of the blood tests came back with a very high level of probability for a chromosomal abnormality. The consultant, since I’d declined an amino, said he’d have a look at the baby and see what he thought. He commented ‘with those legs, unlikely’ (I have no knowledge of whether this is true or not but apparently proportionally short calves are common in children born with that condition). When DS was born he was 57cm, mainly leg. He only weighed 7lb and looked like a very long pink frog. He’s 14, 5ftoot 11 with a 34 inch inner leg and has size eleven feet as well. Great swimmer!

Yes,I had to cut the feet out of baby grows and put socks on mine.
He's 20 now and 6ft 2
Was always on the upper centile, but evened out as he grew.

I was told the same about DS but I'm 5'9 and DH is 6'4 so he was never going to be short. He's tracking between 75th-90th centiles for height and has from birth

They said the same about my DD. She's now 8 months and wearing 12-18 month baby grows as she's so long, although we have to turn the sleeves up a bit and she doesn't have enough foot to fill the feet bits 🤣
I'm assuming she'll be tall!

Well my girll Dts were boys on all scans I'd take anything with a pinch of salt
