Heyy so am 21 weeks pregnant and had a scan last week my cervix was measuring 21.4 I was giving pesseries to try was back at the hospitol again today for a scan doctor said there shouldn't be much change in a week but it's now 15.2 she was shocked and said I need to have the cervical Stiches and booked in tommorow

I am really worried when she said about they can break my waters by accident and I no at the moment only being 21 weeks they couldn't help baby I am so scared is there any positive storeys with this procedure I am a nervous wreck

They obviously have to go through the risks with you but it is a very low risk. They do this procedure all the time, try to focus on this giving your baby the best chance at making it to term.

The person that will fit stitch will check your cervix know if its able to be done or if its too risky. I was in surgery on Thursday, due to being 17mm but when they went to fit stitch they refused as cervix was shorter than they scanned. (my cervix is tricky to measure) it was too risky so stopped procedure and advised to carry on progesterone..

Am sure you will be in good hands. They do this alot. On day of my appointment they had 3 others that were on my ward they were also having stitch fitted. And that was just whilst I was there.
Good luck and fingers crossed for you
