How would you describe braxton hicks?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and last night started getting mild period cramps on & off for a few hours, at times my belly had felt as if I had done an ab workout, the cramping had gone but it's back tonight, mild period cramps, no tightenings, feels as if I'm coming on my period, would you say this is braxton hicks?

When I had them it was like my skin/bumpjust went really hard and tightened and tensed over the baby. Would hold for a while and then release. Could be uncomfortable :)

I didn't cramp with my Braxton Hicks. Maybe some other posters may have more advice x

35 weeks with 3rd baby and have had BH in all 3 pregnancies. No period type cramps, BH are all in the bump so your entire bump goes hard and almost seizes up, then releases. Very uncomfortable but definitely aren't related to pain or discomfort anywhere else. They don't sound like BH to me

From what I've read online & what you both said it doesn't seem to be BH... I'll keep an eye on this cramping, I'm sure it's nothing?

My belly just goes all hard and I sometimes loose my breath for a few seconds but no cramping no I'm 36 weeks

I did get cramping with braxton hicks but if in any doubt then call maternity triage for advice. Generally if they improve when you change position or drink plenty then it's braxton hicks but if there seems to be any pattern or regularity to it then definitely get checked out.
