Hi folks, my sister is just about to give birth to her second baby (older one is about 16 months) and I’m struggling to think of a nice gift for her. She says she doesn’t need anything for the baby (I will get her something anyway) but I’d like to treat my sister to something nice.

Does anyone have any ideas of things you would have liked to receive in her position? Apart from the standard chocolates and bubble bath? Thanks 😊

For me I would have loved

  • some lovely summer pyjamas
  • face masks and home hair treatment for when I get time
  • nice coffee and a cute mug
  • new water bottle
  • quality hand wash

Trying to think of more.

Food is my go to. Cook vouchers if they have the freezer space.

I wouldn’t usually suggest a keepsake but as it’s your sister maybe you know her well enough to choose one?

The best gift I received from my SIL was her coming round to watch the baby while I showered, bring meals to save me cooking, bring treats, putting a load of laundry on for me

Thanks all for the responses, for context I’m expecting too (not until end of October) and like about 2.5 hours away, but am planning on staying with her for a few days once she’s settled to help her out a bit

Definitely food - we were gifted pasta evangelists and I really loved that because it was delicious and felt a bit fancy, like a nice treat to look forward to at the end of the day without going to a restaurant

Another vote for Cook vouchers

Definitely food! Either yummy treats or something like Cook meals/vouchers. Best gifts I’ve ever received 😂

I was given a Cote voucher from work. That was nice.

For me, my SIL got me a 1.5hr massage where the lady came to my house. Was absolutely amazing as I didn’t need to leave my house and exactly what I needed as my neck muscles were killing me from looking down at my baby constantly breastfeeding. Also cook vouchers as no time or energy to cook
