Brown discharge reassurance?

Hi

i have a daughter and have had 2 losses since and currently 6 weeks pregnant

I have been experiencing brown discharge since Monday and haven’t stopped stressing since. I had a scan Tuesday and baby was measuring 6 weeks so just 3 days behind where I thought but everything went fine at scan (was defo prepared for the worst)

the scan still hasn’t reassured me tho as the brown discharge is still happening and when you search all u get is negativity and I just can’t shake the stress

i was never stressed pregnant with my daughter and sailed through pregnancy and I’m only a few weeks in and this has just added stress on top of stress already 💔

just wondered if it is normal and not the start of a miscarriage as that’s all Google says 😔

thankyou

Hello! I had very similar, brown/pink discharge at about 6/7 weeks it lasted around a week and a half.
Had an early scan at EPU at 8 weeks as I was away with work during the week and all was well. Im now 22 weeks.
I also done the same googling and finding just negative stories, I went to the doctors when the bleeding started and they pretty much said it's a waiting game and this just stressed me more. The midwife wasn't impressed and it was her who referred me to the EPU.

I had on off light discharge/bleeding throughout the whole of my first trimester with DC2. They never found a cause, it stopped itself eventually and there were no issues with the pregnancy or with DC2 once born.

@chloe5194 thankyou so much for ur comment, it’s such a stressful time isn’t it, I can’t believe the doctor said that to u that’s the last thing you want to be told! So glad everything is fine for you tho ☺️I’m hoping mine doesn’t last much longer now and goes away 🤞🏼 xxx

@WeightoftheWorld thankyou so much for ur comment, that’s good to hear, so glad everything was fine for you 🫶🏼 xxx

I had this with my second baby in the early stages, whenever I exercised or had sex.

When I had my first scan they said it was a from a bruise on my uterus probably from the force of the egg going into my uterus.

All was ok and I have a 14 month old now. I also have pictures if you want to PM if that would reassure you.

@ClarityClankrant thankyou so much for your reply 🫶🏼 honestly if you don’t mind that would be so reassuring for me to see but only if your ok with that
thankyou so much xxx

I also had bleeding in the first trimester with all three of my DC (all fine!). It wasn't just spotting, more like a period some days. It definitely doesn't have to be bad news 🙂

Same thing happened to me at 11 weeks... my DS is 18 years old now! It really can just be nothing.

I've messaged you. I'm not sure if I can send pics via PM? 🤔

So sorry you're going through this anxiety. I had brown spotting from 6 weeks with some red and bigger bleeds from time to time, and this continued well into the 2nd trimester. I had a prearranged scan at 6+5 at the IVF clinic and several scans thereafter to try to stop me going crazy with worry, but the scans don't reassure for more than a couple of hours when you're still bleeding. In between, it's a waiting game and distraction is your friend. The cause of my bleeding was a "bruise" (subchorionic haematoma) which although not normal, isn't uncommon. If positive stories help, my baby arrived safe and well at full term and he's a big boy of 9 now.

Today you are pregnant, and despite the spotting the odds are hopeful if you've seen a heartbeat. Take it one day at a time and hang in there, and I will keep my fingers crossed that in a few years' time, you'll be posting about your own positive outcome on someone else's thread about first trimester spotting and bleeding.

Hi, how is everything? I’m currently 11 weeks pregnant and I haven’t had sex in 5 weeks until 2 nights ago. The next morning (yesterday morning) I had jelly like discharge with brown blood and I’m still getting some today but it’s not as much as yesterday. I’ve got no other symptoms but I really don’t want to lose this baby, I’ll be heartbroken if I do😭 I just want some reassurance. I suffer with health anxiety and I’m so nervous to go to the EPU incase they say there’s no heartbeat😭xx

PepperIsHere · 20/12/2023 09:31

I had that with all 3 pregnancies, implantation bleeding, apparently.
