Cramp-like pain at 4 weeks

Hi ladies - got my BFP last week, and I'm now roughly 4.5-5 weeks. Getting really strong lines on cheapie IC tests. I'm just a bit worried but constant, mild period-like cramps that I'm getting. Absolutely no sign of AF arriving, but are cramps like this normal so early on? It's four years since I last did this!
Thanks.

It's how I realised I was pregnant (although I think I was only a couple of weeks).

Hiya! I had the same around that time - it's only really dropped off around six weeks or so.

I think it's normal as it's everything stretching down there which can feel quite crampy.

Obviously if it's super painful or you have bleeding I'd seek further help, but it is normal

Hey

Congrats, I'm also 4.5 weeks.

Also getting cramping. Remember this with my first and I think it settled from 6 weeks ish.

Thanks for the reassurance, ladies xx

I'm around the same and defo feeling crampy - nothing extreme just feels like somethings going on inside 😅I don't really experience period pain in general but it's a little different to what I've had on the odd occasion.

I am just hoping it's the magic happening 🙏

I exerienced really bad bouts of cramps at around 4 weeks, I'd get them once a day and they were really uncomfortable to the point I'd go to the bathroom and lay on the floor until it passed. Went to the doctors and only then did I find out I was pregnant! I didn't have any bleeding with the cramps, but if you feel like they're really uncomfortable or getting worse go to your doctor - I had a scan at 5 weeks and then the following week to make sure it wasn't ectopic and all was in the right place. The cramps faded after a couple of weeks to be replaced by nausea and vomiting. I'm currently 10 + 5 weeks.

Hope youfeel better soon! x

I'm also 4-5 weeks and having cramping, not painful as such but a little uncomfortable. I think mostly it's making me worry so I've just taken a paracetamol to hopefully make it go away and take my mind off it. I don't know if this is helpful but my last pregnancy was ectopic and I didn't have this cramping sensation, so hopefully this is all normal baby settling into the right place kind of cramping 😃

Sorry to barge in this post but just wondered if your scan at 5 weeks showed anything at all? X

OP apparently cramps can be normal in the first couple of weeks, and everything shifting around etc, I also noticed I had a lot of trapped wind pain as well (sorry tmi)

DanceMumTaxi · 08/06/2023 20:09

I had this too, as well as pains in my back and hips. I think it’s fairly normal.

Beans1982 · 08/06/2023 21:06

@Catlover10 Yes, my 5 week scan showed a yolk sack. I was then invited to go back for another scan one week later when they dated me at 7 weeks - they detected a hearbeat and embryo.

I also had bad wind pains as you've mentioned but they soon settled, although quite unpleasant to experience them at the time.
