Scared i might be pregnant

Firstly im very sorry for anyone this may offend as I know how hard some people try to fall pregnant and this is in no way meant to come across as insensitive. Im just simply scared as I am not planning on getting pregnant and not in a position to become a mum just yet. I have been using condoms regularly and have taken precautions to avoid this, however there have been some accidents at times.

I took the first pregnancy test at around 7:30 yesterday morning and within the first 3 minutes nothing showed up and there was no sign of a positive result, I just happened to look back an hour later and saw the second line which completely threw me and freaked me out.

the next three were taken throughout the remainder of the day and the last one taken early this morning, which as far as I can see are totally negative.

any advice on what might have happened with the first one? I’m due on my period any time between now and Tuesday according to my app and I have been having regular ish periods since having my out dated implant taken out last Jan

Again, please no offence to anyone at all. This just isn’t the right time for me or my boyfriend unfortunately as much as we would love to 🙁

That line is an evap, it’s a classic ClearBlue one. Too thin. The rest are negative.

That’s not to say that you couldn’t test positive still if you haven’t missed a period yet.

If this is not a good time for you to become a mum then I suggest you be more careful. If you are having accidents (plural) then whatever form of birth control you’re using is not effective for you and you’re putting yourself in real danger of becoming pregnant. That probably sound snippier than I intend it to but you need to give your head a wobble.

I have no idea about the likelihood of actually being pregnant based on those as I've no clue about these things.

However I myself am also completely averse to getting pregnant, and would definitely have an abortion.

If I thought I was, and before the whole hassle of the abortion, I would first try something else. I would go to a few pharmacies and get a few doses of the morning after pill, and take those.
Not guaranteed at all, but might work, I'm sure the after effects wouldn't be great but I would put up with it.

Pollywaddles said everything I was going to!

Wait for your period and rest again if it doesn’t start by Tuesday. But the positive one came after the timeframe and is an evap line.
Time to change to a different birth control method.

Well I’m not sure this is very good advice. Don’t do this OP unless it’s in the timeframe of the MAP being effective .

That's an evap line, I've had them before on clear blue but I wasn't pregnant

Mutabiliss · 04/05/2023 10:14

The morning after pill won't do anything if you're already pregnant, so don't bother with that.

If you are pregnant and don't want to be, you can have an abortion. No woman in this country has to have a baby she doesn't want, thank goodness. It's unfortunate and a bit of a hassle to sort out, but it's not the end of the world.

Having said that, I would say that's a classic evap line and the other negative tests confirm that. Do another test in a few days to make sure.

If you're having contraception accidents and you definitely don't want a baby, you need some other form of contraception.
