When did your 2nd baby come?

First came at 39+4 and was fully expecting to have had my 2nd by now. Currently 40+3 no signs WHATSOEVER with a pushy midwife wanting to discuss sweeps/induction

DC1 - 8 days late
DC2 - 7 days late
DC3 - 3 days early

I feel for you OP! I was going mad when I went overdue!

First on his due date (only time he's been on time for anything since...🤣). Second was ten days early.

First came at 40+1. 2nd came at 41+5.

Every day past 40 weeks feels like a week doesn't it! I assumed 2nd would come quicker but turns out not. I strongly didn't want an induction so I was booked in for a c section on 40+5, then my waters broke early that morning.

Midwife tried a sweep at 41 weeks but she couldn't reach the cervix as it was so far back. a different lady (with self confessed longer fingers) and she was successful. i got a show thr next day and baby comed the day after that.

DS2 10 days early 9lb 3oz
both easy, natural labours.

1st DD - 41+3
2nd DS - 40+3

however I got my DS’s due date moved to a later date after a scan so based on the original due date he’d have been 41 weeks

i feel for you - those overdue days are sooooooo long

My first was born on their due date and my second was about 10 days over.

36 weeks and 4 days

My second arrived last week! 🥰

First 41+1
Second 40+5 - also had pushy midwife but I stuck to my guns and refused sweeps and examinations and didn't entertain any induction chat either. Baby arrived spontaneously and very speedily without complications and unassisted. I had zero indicators either, like you!

Due date

My first child was 9 days late and the second was 5 days early.
The last few weeks are so hard. You are nearly there. Fingers crossed baby comes very soon.

Baby 1 - 39 +2
Baby 2- 39
Baby 3- 40+2!

Ah wow I’m pretty much in the same boat as you. First came at 39 weeks and I am currently 40 + 3 waiting for my 2nd! I had a sweep today as also have had no signs and really want a home birth and I was 4cm dilated and stretching to 5! I was a bit surprised! Initially I wanted to avoid any sweeps but I am at the stage I’d do anything to avoid induction further down the line! Good luck!!

You're all so kind, thank you 😊 I had such a wonderful first birth that I feel it has a lot to live up to! More fool me for thinking I would be having this one earlier too.

Did your sweep work any magic? I might as my midwife on Monday for one but I just want my body to do everything in its own time

@featherlampshade no unfortunately not yet! I’ve had some mild cramping and bloody show but nothing more exciting! They said to give it 48 hours so hopefully tonight is the night, otherwise I might contact the home birth team to ask them for another one tomorrow.

Just a little update - started in slow labour 1am Monday morning and gave birth to my little girl at 11.31pm Monday night May 1st. It was incredibly intense, she was born in the water and I have a superficial internal tear which hasn't required stitches xx
