I think I maybe pregnant but all today I have had cramps like I usually do before a period comes. They do not hurt but I am constantly aware of them. I have early pregnancy tests but I am due on Monday so want to hang off at least until tomorrow morning...

But now I am wondering if I should just accept my period is on its way with these feelings I am getting.

Its amazing how your mind can play tricks on you... tonight I even turned my nose up at broccoli which I do in pregnancy. I am sure its me

Just wondered how many people felt and had all the signs of a period coming but were actually pregnant?

Thanks

Oh pants! What a PITA.

What brand of test did you use?

I've been there too - this time of the month sucks whether you are actively TTC or just optomistically hopeful.

colditz · 17/02/2008 16:33

Aye. Both times.

MiMao · 17/02/2008 19:39

Hi
So due on tomorrow.. lets see.

Still feel crampy and took children out the whole day hoping I would forget about it all but I kept getting queasy feelings.

I had to do a lot of lifting up the pram up and down stairs, not many people offered unfortunately so I am worried about that. I know its not good to lift heavy loads. With first pregnancy I treated my body like a templed and lifted nothing and even got out of cleaning the bathroom (chemicals are not good for the baby I would say ) But with 2nd I just had to get on with it and did most things as normal. Because you have to when you already have one.

Dh is actually warming to the idea now anyway so we'll see what happens.

Fingers crossed!

Aww, sorry to hear that MiMao, but like you say, it may just be that your cycle is longer this month that others. I hated the feeling of waiting for my period to start and went to the loo a million times a day for a good few days to check the status! I still do it unconciously now!
Good luck! xx

MiMao · 17/02/2008 19:58

Bigbadmouse - I used Clear blue Early Digital test.

God - this is killing me now.

Dh just said he definitely wants to start sooner so I am excited now either way

I have felt queasy all day and even now. Cramps still there and feeling slightly bloated like i do pre-period.

jsut ben reading some of the messages and thought i'd add that i also experienced cramp pains as if i was due a period during the early stages of pregnancy. I did a home test last feb which said neg but continued to feel 'odd'! Broke a rib in March and had a test donr in A&E which also came back as neg. Didn't get a pos result until May, when i was almost 16weeks pregnant!! Hope the result is what you want but don't always believe it!!

VictorianSqualor · 17/02/2008 20:32

With this one I was a few days late, called DP to get me a test on the way home from work but he forgot and then I got the usual AF cramps etc so said not to bother, finally took a test a week later, positive.

MiMao · 17/02/2008 20:54

Oooh!

I am excited but also worried.

Not planned and I never got around to doing any tummy exercises or getting that exercise dvd I have been telling myself all ny to get!

Plus I have been drinking a lot lately and had a few girlie night outs in a row hence the extra sex my partner got I don't normally drink or go out that much. Just a couple of glasses of wine on the weekends.

Or been taking Folic acid - oh God, I am going to really start worrying if I am!

No pain but absolute total exhaustion then one day of bleeding - like the tail end of a period and then it stopped. Am 17 weeks now. Still deep in denial though

chuckwagon · 17/02/2008 21:22

I hadn't planned my pregnancy and was out drnking and smoking for almost 4 months, felt terrible and did worry for the remainder of my pregnancy but all was well. DD is 14wks now and is gorgeous. I know it's easy for me to say but try not to worry and relax. I did feel a little better following all the scans, tests etc

BigBadMouse · 17/02/2008 21:39

Doh! I was hoping you had used a really cheapy unreliable test .

That said, I have heard of many people who, like chuckwagon, didn't get a BFP until they were well into their pregnancy. They all seemed to have healthy babies in the end.

Morning

I got my dates wrong and today is actually day 29 of my cycle so I am just one day overdue.

Woke in the night and could not sleep, tummy felt odd - strange feeling.

This morning I was bursting bit tried to hang on until 7am so I had a good morning wee to use for a test - test was neg !!!

So weird, maybe I have a bug then because I feel so queasy - that familiar feeling, I know it and I never normally have it.

My body is telling me I am but 2 Clear Blue Digital tests are telling me I am not so I guess that have to be right... unless I have a longer cycle this month like 31-33 days which I had the odd one's last year so I still could be?

I need to stop thinking about it now.

Wish my period would just show up to end all this silly thinking.

Sorry to hear that your tests aren't coming back as you'd wish, but just in case you are pg, I wouldn't worry about Folic Acid, there's loads of it in cereals and bread these days so you'd be fine. Hope your tests start playing game soon for you!

MrsMattie · 18/02/2008 12:39

I felt 'pre-menstrual' both times before finding out I was pregnant (DS1 - didn't get a BFP until about a week after AF was due; last pregnancy, got a BFP 2 days after AF due). I have never been a good symptom spotter. It all feels the same to me - I feel grotty, tired, crampy, sick.

lollipopmother · 18/02/2008 12:41

I had really bad cramps for at least the first month of my pregnancy, but then I was getting really bad period pains anyway so it didn't seem out of the ordinary to get the cramps, they didn't make me think I was pregnant just that I was coming on, which obviously never happened.

spugs · 18/02/2008 13:39

i did with all 4 of my pregnancys never been more sure that im going to get af then when im pregnant

colditz · 18/02/2008 14:21

This happened to me and I was pregnant - didn't show on a test until 3 weeks after my due date - the clear blue digitals missed it.

MiMao · 18/02/2008 18:01

colditz - thats very interesting!

Well shortly after posting earlier I started my period, quite light but cramps have got worse.

I just got in now with kids and feel shattered.

I think this time there is no chance I am. Spoke to dh and we have agreed to start ttc later this year so I should be happy with that but still cant help feeling gutted. I am now wishing my period stays light and lasts only 4 days, this is what happened with my first dd and so did not think I was pregnant because i had a light period. Found out at about 8 weeks.

So silly how out body tortures our mind, all night I kept thinking about a little baby ... feel like a fool now and did not admit to my dh that I tested twice!

I had a lump in my breast. went 2 docs & got it checked out. was not cancerous, but was down to being hormonal. the lump went down then re-apeared. i can remember being really worried & told my mum,who said i should go back 2 the docs again. the next day i was complaining about it 2 my friend & my boobs were extremely senitive at this point too & she quickly said 2 me "when was ur last period?" i nearly died with imbarassment as i could not remember wen my last period was. i took a test at the docs & i was 12weeks pregnant. After this i can remember running 4 water every 2minutes & i had a fetish 4 prawns, cheese & onion sandwhiches & strawberry milkshacks. I would also gag every single time i cleaned my teath.

ge24 · 26/04/2009 18:24

polka99 · 23/02/2010 18:03

Could simply feeling very bloated (but no other major symptoms yet) be a sign of pregnancy? My period's not due till Sat/Sun. It is too early to be having symptoms/take a test? If I am, it would be my first and a very happy 'semi-accident' conceived on Valentine's Day.

coldtits · 23/02/2010 18:03

i did. I bled a tiny bit too (implanted)

nomorewine · 23/02/2010 18:10

I did every time. Was always sure I was getting my period to the point I really didn't feel it was worth wasting money on a pregnancy test. Was shocked when I got my positives!
