Bleeding but raising HCG levels

Hello, this is my first post and I’m just looking for anyone who’s gone through a similar experience.

I found out on Saturday that I was pregnant, very early, 4 weeks. I began cramping and experiencing bleeding that night; and by Sunday the cramping was severe. By Monday the blood has became red in colour, and the bleeding slightly lighter than a period, so I went down to the emergency room, and they advised that my HCG levels were sitting at 35, so likely experiencing a miscarriage and to go home and rest.

on Wednesday I began feeling just not right, dizzy, nauseous, and generally unwell. My mind went straight to infection, and I went back to the emergency room where they ran some further tests, and everyone was shocked that my HCG levels has risen to 136 instead of staying static or plateauing, with no sign of infection. I’ve been referred to the early pregnancy unit to have a scan, fingers crossed that will be in the next couple days. My tests are still coming back strong! But I’m not going to allow my hopes to go up

Sorry you are going through this. When I got my first faint positive I bled from that day for three whole days. Red blood, like a light flow period that needed a pad. It did stop, I did go on to have 3 more episodes of red bleeding, all needing a pad but only lasting hours.

I'm now 14 weeks and everything ok so far!

It's so scary but if your HCG is rising that's good, try to hang in there.

I had a similar experience in October last year and unfortunately mine turned out to be an ectopic pregnancy. I would say though that my HCG was not doubling, but did rise slowly so could be different for you.

It is good you are getting checked out and I hope you get your appointment soon at EPU. As you are still quite early, they may not be able to see anything on the scan but will probably continue to monitor your HCG and carry out more scans if it continues to rise.

I had a similar thing. Found out I was 4 weeks along, started bleeding the same day and it actually went on for 6 days! Thought I must have had a chemical. But my tests only kept getting stronger. I had 4 more heavy bleeds with cramping and even small clots. But I'm 34 weeks pregnant now!

Unfortunately this early on it's a waiting game. I was told every time I went to the EPU to prepare for the worst and hope for the best, especially as the early scans never showed much until about 7 weeks.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. And do go back to be seen by a&e if you develop one-sided pain and/or pain in your shoulder, so you can rule out an extopic pregnancy.

hi. So I had some bleeding and pain went to my obgyn told them I had been bleeding and in a lot of pain but it couldn’t be my period cus I had a 7 day period on the 5th. Turns out I’m pregnant. Got sent to the hospital my hcg was a 1,120 ? Even tho I thought I had a period. Anyone have this before ?? Scared to death

I had bleeding around 4 weeks which lasted for about 5 days. In fact, I thought it was my period and didn't realise I was pregnant until 2 weeks later when I started developing pregnancy symptoms.. I was convinced it was my period, although lighter than normal, I still needed a pad for 5 days and had the usual time of the month symptoms. I'm 9 weeks now and had a scan at 8 weeks showing everything was fine! I still don't know what caused the period-like bleed but have had nothing since.

Got my fingers crossed for you! I hope you get your scan soon although be prepared for it to maybe not show much, you may need a rescan a few weeks after if inconclusive but it can rule out ectopic etc.

I’m 4 weeks today, woke up bleeding and have twingy like cramps. I’m exhausted and boobs still hurt and feel nauseous! I’m so scared!! Did another pregnancy test and the line is much darker!

Good evening im sorry to hear your story and also to hop on to this but im in a simular boat. Got my first positive 14/02 following 6 misscariages over the years. If i had a normal cycle i should be 7 weeks today however my cycle is 35 days with8 days veriation. I started spotting monday 19/02 but had litteraly no pain or cramps what so ever. called midwife she sent me to early pregnancy unit. I had a scan they saw some fluid in my womb but said its too early. they took bloods but told me more than likely i have misscaried and said they would repeat 48 hrs wich was the wednesday 21st. They called that evening to say my hcg has more than doubled. Thursday22nd went in to start projestrone and was sat down by the nurse to say that my hcg numbers havent doubled and they were wrong on the phone instead they had risen from 174 to 270 wich is just below the 60% rise they expect so told me again i have more than likely lost! They told me to test again 28th buti have tested every day and my lines are as strong as they get. My bleeding was spotting monday stopped tuesday a little dark spotting wednesday nothing thursday and friday but yesterday and today has been more like a period yet still no pain. Im besides myself with worry and dont know if I am coming or going with it all. Im expecting the worst but ovcourse hoping for the best for my rainbow anyone got any hope for me with success stories 🙏
