Hi all,
Desperately reaching out to see if anybody can help.
I am trying to work out my take home net pay per month, 37.5 hrs on an NHS band 8a - bottom of band.
Is there anybody who would be happy to share what their take home was split over 12 months on a 8a on Mat leave please?
our HR won’t forecast it for me - being very difficult 🙈
Many thanks for any help x

@CLS89 I've just submitted my forms to my trust as now 26 weeks so I'm hoping to get the breakdown soon. I'm also bottom 8a.
However my friend is currently on mat leave as a B7 and had her payments spread evenly over 9 months (she isn't taking the 13 weeks unpaid) and is taking home 1900pm.
Hope this helps!

It does thank you so much 😊

Hello
piggy backing on to see if anyone got an answer
trying to plan ahead and the maternity money site won’t load at all
we are hoping to have another baby but I know I’ll need to save the wage shortfall but can’t calculate it. NHS in Scotland, 8a (bottom point).

Any ideas on pay (either 9 or 12 months)

thank you

Shocking that band 8 nhs staff can't do basic maths!

Totally agree with this, band 8a should be able to work out your maternity entitlement!! Surely you have other things you have to work out on a daily basis, such as staffing levels and all the reports you need to do, you've got a huge number of staff under you.

@Willowswood - clinical role, not working out payroll regularly. Know this chat is old but resurrecting in the hope that there may be someone who could help!

Hi! I'm on Mat leave, 8a lowest point (England), I split mine over 52 weeks and have been getting around £1600 a month. Hope this helps!

Camaccarr · 26/11/2024 22:59

I get £1,360 per month averaged over the 52 weeks. This is also based on a little oncall that I did during my qualifying weeks on top of normal wages. I pay the same amount of superannuation as before maternity, this apparently was agreed under agenda for change for all paybands over 7. The ammount was a shock, especially as I'm not getting much more that when I was at the bottom of band 6 13 years ago!

Thanks @Camaccarr and @mp2024 quite different numbers. I’m hoping payroll will help me forecast mine!
