Did anyone else feel this bad at 4 weeks?

Hello everyone,

I'm so excited to have tested positive at 10DPO!

However, physically, I feel SO awful. My (very supportive) partner is at the office today and I'm home alone, feeling very tearful in this moment.

I am only 4 weeks pregnant but my entire body hurts (a bit like the Covid aches, if you had those, but worse). While I know back/ligament pain is expected, it hurts to just 'be', even if sitting or lying down. Even my knuckles feel sore 😮. I've not got much sickness and the fatigue is manageable; it's just the painful bones.

I suppose I wasn't expecting to feel so bad so soon and, having not told anyone yet, wanted some advice /reassurance.

  • How did you manage your discomfort? I've read conflicting advice about paracetamol - have you used it during pregnancy? I've been wanting to take it for the last few days but haven't.
  • How did you manage work/social life while feeling so unwell? No one else knows yet and I'm finding myself putting on a happy face while simultaneously feeling close to tears.

Thank you so much for your help.

I don’t think I felt anything in either of my pregnancies at 4 weeks, could you be ill with something else?
Im still pregnant with my second at the mo (2nd trimester) now and it doesn’t hurt just to sit or lie, I don’t think that happened until the very last few weeks last time (and I carried until 42 weeks!).
Take a paracetamol and you’ll be fine!
Social wise, I avoided some events, pretended I had a water infection for others.

Are you sure you aren't coming down with another bug? I never felt this bad with either of my 2. I'd take some paracetamol and try and get some rest

I felt terrible at 4 weeks. Turned out I’d got my dates wrong and I was actually 8 weeks. I also tested positive very early.

My other two pregnancies I started feeling crappy around 6 weeks.

Hey Hun, paracetamol is absolutely fine please take some to relieve yourself of such discomfort but your symptoms definitely don't sound pregnancy related, especially not so early on. I think you may be unwell. Congrats on the pregnancy and I hope you feel better soon!

Thank you all for your replies. I woke up
This morning feeling a lot better. After a week of aches, I'm hoping it stays this way!
