Hi i am 14 weeks pregnant nearly and am showing but im not sure what sorta clothes to get. Do you get a bra few sizes up or a proper maternity bra as mine are getting too small to wear. I have been buying like clothes which sizes are like 1 or 2 sizes up but how do you know how big your going to get. How do the maternity clothes sizes work-is it like 3-6 motnths or something like that? Any advice be much appreciated

I'd like to add that while your maternity clothes will see you through most of the pregnancy, there will be a stage at the end when nothing fits, not even the maternity stuff. Does everyone go through this, or is it just me and my bump that horrified even my Mum? (She was sensible enough to wait until after I'd given birth to tell me how huge and scary I was, and how she thought that I would never look normal again!)

adding to all the good and varied advice above. I like adjustable waistband ones, esp as I am carrying this one high. have just bought some FAB trousers from Jojomamanbebe (online, good service), black wide legged half elasticated waistbanded ones for work. will prob be too small when I get very big, but I won't be working then and I will be too hot to wear twill trousers (currently 18 weeks with number 3).

found blooming marvellous good for jeans and bad for potential work trousers, 6 years ago when I was first buying maternity stuff.

but I remember getting mighty bored of wearing the same clothes by the end of 40 weeks!! and towels won't go round your middle by the end either. the joys...

Of all the maternity clothes i have bought I have found Gap Maternity to be by far the best. I started to show really early, bought 3 pairs of trousers and some long vest tops to wear under my normal tops to stop the inch or so of flesh showing - I made my non pregnant tops last until 5 months that way. Now I am a bit of a heffer, I have to wear pregnancy tops too. I have found that I have needed a new set of clothes in a bigger size now my bump is fairly large. Definitely try and make what you already have work for you for as long as possible as you will need different ones in trmiester three. Also remember the weather will change at some point so you'll need to get spring/summer clothes as well.
