Hi, just wanted some opinions on this please, went for our 12 week scan yesterday which was amazing. Had a nuchal translucency reading of 2.0mm which they said was normal.

We are absolutely in love and keep looking at our scan and I noticed that there seems to be a really large gap behind the neck, but the reading was only 2mm! Am I misinterpreting the scan? Thanks.

They would've measured more than from just this one image. They spend a lot of time measuring it to make sure it's accurate so try not to worry!

I thought so, thank you

mine looks huge on the scan picture too- unfortunately I can't remember the measurement but they didn't say it was abnormal. It's been a week and not had any results yet.

Please try not to worry, the sonographer will have done detailed measurements and they would absolutely flag an increased NT. I'm currently pg and our 12 week scan did show an increased measurement (3.8) and it looks much bigger than on your photo. Remember everything is tiny at that stage so it may look more significant than it is. And congratulations! Smile

Sorry not the best pic!

My scan looked like that too @magentaminima and was measuring 1.5mm but I obsessed over it, but combined tests came back low! Let me see if I can find it. I'm currently 32 weeks x

I'll add mine into the mix. Obviously don't remember what the measurement is and not yet had results, but I think they're supposed to let you know if it's out of the normal range? so I guess it's with the 'normal' range.

My son's looked huge too and I was concerned they hadn't measured it right, but it was absolutely normal 😊

Hey had my 12 week scan last week and my NT measurement was 3.8mm so I was referred to FMU. Luckily I had an appointment the next day and everything is growing 'normal' and NT measured at 3.6mm. my screening blood results came back as 1:95 chance of DS.

We chose NIPT for now but I keep thinking I should have got CVS or get Amino test at 16 weeks.

Being more positive talking to colleagues who've had similar odds and they've had healthy babies. Trying my best to stay off Google but when I'm not at work I'm easily distracted.
