Twin mummies....symptoms.

Hi all,

So I'm pregnant (YAAAY!! 🥳)
I found out at 3weeks 3days (9dpo). I just had a feeling. Line came up before the control line did. I'm now around 6 weeks.

Anyway....everyone keeps mentioning twins to me! My test was very dark for the timings apparently, I'm showing and in maternity jeans! (4th pregnancy though) no sickness but painful breasts. Pulling pain in groin and thigh cramps for last week.

I'm just curious, I guess to hear from you lovely ladies who are/have had a twin pregnancy....what were you signs and symptoms at the very beginning?

Also everywhere I look I see twins! Or someone mentions that they are a twin or have twin grandchild etc and it's just so very strange 😂

Test at 9dpo so you can all see ♥️

Sickness 5 times a day from 6 weeks and showing by 8 week, in maternity clothes by 10 weeks!

Very very strong symptoms, and all of them.

Op I did have a very sore breast at the beginning, plus at that time I used to work nights and wasn't used to eat there, but that really changed, because from the very early begging I had been sick if empty stomach.
Lesson quickly learned obviously and since then armed with snacks .:D

I had a strong line. Sickness from week 6.

Mine were no different to my normal pregnancies, hence the huge shock at the scan.

I really don’t think you can tell. I had a dye stealer test, was showing at 8 weeks (to the point someone asked my due date) and had particularly bad nausea and fatigue. I also have twins in the family. Just one baby.

I have no other pg to compare mine with but I "knew"after a week of DTD, and this was confirmed by a test a week later. Take out insurance against twins now! It's just a few pounds and could net you around £3k if it's confirmed (from memory). I didn't do it but wish I had! Best wishes .

@lolovemycottage 😂 I'm terrible for snacking lol. I do feel nauseous and a bit shaky whwn I have an empty stomach.

@Stillwearingskinnys how early was your BFP and was it similar to mine in strength?

I had very similar to you. I had a positive test at 10DPO, very strong so would have shown at about 8 I think. At that point it already said 2 - 3 on a clear blue weeks indicator. I was showing at 5 weeks and I've started wearing maternity jeans some days and I'm 8 weeks. Sickness from 5 weeks all much earlier than on 1st DC.

I had a private scan at 6 + 6 and it was only one in there but they did move me on 4 days so would explain the stronger tests. Let us know how you get on x

@Tryingtoconceivenumber2 thanks for your comment and congrats. I have a private scan tomorrow and can't wait. 😂 I'm thinking it's just one and as it's 4th pregnancy my body jist knows what it's doing and has popped earlier lol.

I felt really hot and just tummy cramps before my missed period. It was no surprise when I tested positive.
I was showing by 10 weeks but still a massive shock I was pregnant.

So scan wasn't great.
The woman who did it was horrible! She did an internal scan, and it was honestly for about 40/45 seconds. I saw nothing, really, black circles that was it. She then just turned the screen off and said "things don't look as they should, there's no yolk sac" I was an absolutely horrible experience! I then went from there to get bloods (HCG came back at 2212) back on thurs for another scan and more bloods. Feel very confused and scared

I was struggling into my jeans by ten weeks, no other major signs though. It was my second proper pregnancy so I just assumed I'd stretched out with DD.
DH had commented how early I was showing and when we saw it was twins at the scan very quietly muttered "I fucking knew it" 🤣

Those are horrible scans to have, been there too. Have a hand hold from me. Be gentle with yourself over the next few days.

@abbmebtdab how did the other scan go and the bloods?

Went well. There was a yolk sac. It was only 2 days after the first so I was happy with that change. Everything seemed so difficult to see but have another scan this Fri so hoping things have progressed nicely. Hubby is still convinced they will find a second baby 😂

Forgot to mention, she did she measurements of gestational sac and put me 4 days behind where I believe I am. Didn't do other bloods are were happy things were moving along as should be. No second sac seen.

Oh that’s really good news. Well you never know as it’s still so early there could be another one hiding 😆
