35 Weeks Oblique/Cephalic Baby

Has anyone had experience with a oblique baby? Last midwife appointment she said he's Oblique but wrote down cephalic on my notes. Should I be worried? Really hoping for a vaginal birth and don't want to be pushed into making decisions about c-sections. Any positive stories of your little ones getting themselves into position before the big day?

Hi my first was oblique at 36 weeks and was sent for scan and did a load of spinning babies positions and he went head down. It’s early days at 35weeks, I think the sofa was the culprit for me as couldn’t sit upright on it I’d maybe give the midwife a ring to confirm as they can’t always be sure when palpitating I think that’s why she sent me for scan.

I’m 39 weeks with baby in a good position but she stayed transverse for a good few weeks before turning herself at 36. At 35 I was still googling advice on how to help her turn and getting ready to buy moxibustion 😅. Don’t know what helped - I kept active but I stayed active with walking/yoga throughout pregnancy and tried not to slouch on the sofa too much. I did try some Spinning Babies stuff - forward leaning inversion (website is dedicated to getting babies into the right position if you haven’t come across yet) but she kept going back to transverse until 36 weeks. TBH I think it was her running out of space + gravity working, not anything I’ve done specifically - your LO is overwhelmingly likely to turn too, statistically speaking. Some babies just take a little longer x

@Laura0589 Yeah I've been avoiding the sofa! I find it uncomfortable at the moment anyway so trying to make use of my birthing ball instead and try to keep busy and on my feet but I work an office job and worry that's having an effect although I'm always really conscious of how I'm sitting. Midwife said she'd send me for a scan if he's not budged by next appointment next week so I'm trying everything!

@SiberFox I really hope so! I've looked at Spinning Babies but feel a little nervous to try some of the suggestions incase he gets too wriggly and ends up breach, but maybe I'll be feeling desperate by next week 😅fingers crossed he decides it's comfier to be head down!
