Hi everyone,

First time pregnancy here and first time posting!

I went to the loo this morning and after a bowel movement and wee noticed that I had some bright red blood when I wiped - I know it sounds awful but I cant be 100 percent sure where it came from because I do suffer from haemorrhoids occasionally.

I called the EPU for some advice but when they phoned back was in a no signal zone so didn’t get their voicemail until later and when I called back they had closed!

Im obviously petrified about miscarriage but would the bleeding be one off or constant? I haven’t had any bad cramps, just usual pregnancy twinges. And I’ve just been to loo again (for a wee) and there is no blood at all.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

It sounds more likely to be from bowel movements from what you’ve said. My miscarriage started off as pink discharge, which went rusty and then bright red. It didn’t slow or go away until the miscarriage was complete. Obviously go and get checked to put your mind at rest though x

I had a huge bleed at 15 weeks with DS, a whole period worth in one go, and he's here safe in bed. Head to hospital if you're really worried but it sounds like all will be okay

Thanks for the advice everyone. I called my midwife yesterday but when they called back the signal was bad! I’ve been trying to call back all day today as well but nothing! I’ve had no bleeding or pain today so I’m hoping it’s nothing sinister touch wood. Will try again tomorrow. Hate the worry!

Ugh midwife called me today and said it could be signs of a missed miscarriage and I need a rescan in two weeks as I only had one on Saturday. I am bloody petrified. I’m nearly 15 weeks now. Does anyone have any experience of this?

@Mans1991 Oh no, surely if she thinks that then they should rescan your asap, regardless of when your last scan was! It’s very unfair to make you wait two weeks. I still think it’s likely to be from bowel movements so keep your chin up xx
