Hello everybody,

I did a blood test today at hospital unit where all sorts of blood tests are being taken. I was there to do some pregnancy blood tests.
I touched many door knobs and touched the seat and so many other things.
After the blood was drawn she asked me to hold a piece of tissue to press down to make the blood stop. The tissue was super tiny!! and I think my finger might’ve accidentally touched the “wound” where she poked me. My fingers were dry, no bodily fluids (unless dried on the seat or door knob) or blood on them. Could I still have contracted myself some kind of disease just by touching it??😩

Thanks in advance ❤️

Hey, it's virtually impossible to catch anything like that. You have to have someone with an open wound touch your open wound and mix "bodily fluids" if that makes sense.

I also worry about this kind of thing especially since covid but if anxieties like these happen regularly for you maybe speak to your midwife and they can offer advice on how to manage these thoughts 🥰

No you can’t. But I would 100% mention to your midwife as this mat level of anxiety is extreme and may be an indicator that you might require more support after the babies birth. It’s much better to get support in place now

@Twoinapod Thank you! This is my second pregnancy and funny enough I don’t care about stuff like this before or after pregnancy. It’s really just during pregnancy and it’s very hard. It’s like my brain functions on another level of worry in pregnancy. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@NnathalieN honestly hormones do some really crazy things. I’m assuming it’s like a protective thing as you become more aware of everything that could be a danger. It’s just not letting it get out of control as the stress can really get you down and it’s not what you need
