I don't 'feel' pregnant

I'm 4-5 weeks pregnant with my second.

I can't remember when any of my symptoms started with my DS but I literally have no symptoms at the moment (other than being really tired - but I have a toddler so...).

I've got a private scan at the weekend as I want to confirm that everything is ok at the moment (have several events coming up!). I get quite bad pre-natal anxiety so struggle to trust my own instincts.

I don't really know what I'm looking for on this post, but I guess just some postivity that pregnacies were fine, despite having no symptoms.

Hey @Bunny2021 and congratulations!

My symptoms kicked in at around 6-7 weeks and they were horrendous until about 12 weeks, currently almost 17 weeks along and just feel tired now.

My sister had barely any symptoms at all throughout though so I don’t think they’re a decent indicator of how things are progressing 💕

Hiya, I had no symptoms that early. I started to feel increasingly tired from about 5-6 weeks and a bit nauseous but lots of women have absolutely no symptoms, or very mild symptoms. I honestly think most of mine were caused by anxiety rather than the pregnancy itself! I was convinced when I went for my private scan at 7-8 weeks that they'd say there was nothing there, but thankfully there was, and I am now 26 weeks.

I didn't even know I was pregnant that early on. Felt totally normal. Then at 7 weeks HG kicked in and I threw up every single day for the next 30 weeks straight. Definitely felt pregnant then...

Just to add some more reassurance, I’m almost 14weeks now and haven’t felt pregnant the entire time!
I was convinced there would be nothing there at my 12 week scan and that I was having some sort of phantom pregnancy, but all was fine and baby was even measuring a week ahead!

Ive had a flare up of my eczema around the cold snaps that has probably been exacerbated by pregnancy, but as someone who has eczema anyway, I really wouldn’t have linked that to pregnancy without a positive test!

Normal but I would delay your scan until 8 weeks if you can - if there’s nothing visible it would be even more worrying for you. 5/6 weeks is borderline for seeing anything!

WhoNeedsSleepNotISaidMyBody · 30/01/2023 15:50

lots of women don't have any symptoms until much later. Do try not to worry.

BerryTowner · 30/01/2023 15:52

My first pregnancy I had no symptoms of being pregnant other than missed periods and a positive pregnancy and then eventually a baby bump in the second trimester and feeling tired.

My baby just turned one and is a happy healthy little boy.

I'm pregnant again and again no symptoms apart from no period and positive pregnancy test.

I hope this reassures you! Some pregnancies are just without symptoms.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 30/01/2023 15:53

Never had any symptoms myself....

mummmmyj · 30/01/2023 16:13

I’m around 6 weeks with #2 and aside from some insomnia / tired I have no symptoms either. I remember being the same with DS. I have a private scan for 2 weeks time so hopefully that’ll reassure me there’s something in there!

I would agree with a PP and move your scan though, I went when I was 5-6 weeks with #1 and couldn’t see anything and it was the worst 2 weeks waiting for another scan and did the opposite of reassuring me so I’d defo recommend pushing this out to at least 7 weeks x

4thonthe4th · 30/01/2023 16:19

I’m the same! 16 weeks today with my 4th and I don’t have any symptoms anymore. If I hadn’t seen baby on the scan I wouldn’t believe it. I did have some sickness but now that’s gone it feels strange. Too early for a bump but I think once that starts or some movements I’ll feel more reassured.

Good luck with your private scan!

Bunny2021 · 30/01/2023 16:28

Thanks everyone definitely feeling more reassured. I think I remember reading something once that the more symptoms/sickness, the more likely a pregnancy is to 'stick' and I just keep getting that going around in my head.

I'm going to keep my scan as I had a very early one with DS - my hand was forced as it was just before Christmas so needed to know before seeing the family.

I'm 33 weeks and have barely had any symptoms at all so I wouldn't worry, everybody is different
